Rock Hide N Seek At The Festival

Local artist Danette Morningstar Hall decided to take a local spin onto the countywide rock hide n seek. The idea behind Beaver County Rocks is simple: find a rock, take a picture of it, and rehide it for someone else to stumble upon. “I’ve found a few of other people’s rocks and it’s always so exciting, so I wanted to pay it forward,” said Hall. Bernadette J. “Berny” Brandon, 71, a life-long resident of Ellwood City, entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven after passing away unexpectedly in Mercy Hospital on Monday, May 27, 2019. Although, Berny had been courageously battling with aggressive heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and macular degeneration for many years she was really looking forward to her next great adventure of meeting up again with the love of her life, Bob Brandon who passed away in 2012. The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include MONDAY, JUNE 24 10:00 a.m. – “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. 3rd Winner For The Mayor Beautification Award

On Monday, June 17th Mayor Anthony J. Court presented to Filipino and Mary Dalessio from Line Avenue, with a yard sign and a restaurant gift certificate.  The Dalessio’s are the 3rd Beautification Winners for 2019. “It is easy to see the hard work they put into their property to create this beautiful landscaping,” said Court. Commemorative Photo Planned For Penn-Ohio Alumni

ATTENTION: For any former high school football players who have played in a Penn-Ohio Classic football game, there is a planned commemorative photo for all ex-players scheduled next week. According to Lincoln High School Athletic Director Curt Agostinelli, the photo is planned to take place on Wednesday, June 19th at Blackhawk High School at 6:45 pm. The commemorative alumni photo is planned as a celebration piece in advance of the 40th Annual Penn-Ohio Classic football game later this month. Trinity Lutheran Church Celebrates 125 Years

2nd Winner For The Mayor Beautification Award

The second winner for the 2019 Mayor Beautification Award was announced this week by the Mayor’s Office. A restaurant gift certificate was presented to Marty Homner of Franklin Avenue, Ellwood City. Two Lincoln High Graduates Receive Monetary Awards

Alex Joseph Fotia, Patricia Bernice McMillin and Hannah E. Froce are the 2019 Lincoln High School graduates who received monetary awards from the Lincoln High School Class of 1957. Alex was given the $5,000 award, Patricia won a $2,500 award and Hannah received $500 for writing the best essay. Their names were announced by James Meehan, ’57 class president, during Lincoln’s annual senior class recognition assembly. The three will be recognized at the ’57 class reunion luncheon in July.
