MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: New Castle Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on January 8th on West Lawrence Avenue in Wayne Township. A 2019 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling too fast downhill and swerved to miss an animal and then left the north side of the roadway. TERRORISTIC THREATS: According to a criminal complaint, on December 24th Patrick McCloskey, 41, of Ellwood City, was charged with Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another. At approximately 9:10 a.m., ECPD was requested by McCloskey’s mother to come to Crescent Avenue due to threats made by McCloskey towards her and her other son. It was learned by police of an active bench warrant for McCloskey’s arrest. It is reported Lauren Cortez, 32, of New Castle, had left her residence with a known male on December 28th at approximately 4:45 p.m. and last spoke with her parents at 7:35 p.m. relating she was traveling to College Hill in Beaver Falls with the known male and two unknown males. Te incident occurred as the victim and the suspect were engaging in communication via social media SnapChat. CARELESS DRIVING, ELUDING POLICE: Three New Castle individuals are charged after fleeing from police on roadways in Ellwood City on October 30. According to the criminal complaint, at approximately 1:41 a.m, police observed three side-by-side ATV utility vehicles at the intersection of Wampum Avenue and North Street playing music very loudly and revving the engines. MOTORCYCLE THEFT: According to a criminal complaint, on Tuesday, October 26 at 6:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to Spring Avenue for a motor vehicle theft. The victim advised that someone had stole his 2004 Harley Davidson Sportser 883 motorcycle from out in front of the funeral home. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, PROPERTY DAMAGE: According to a criminal complaint, on September 26 Ellwood City Police responded to a domestic incident at a residence on Perry Street. Upon arrival police made contact with Tyler Clingensmith, 26, of Ellwood City and a female outside the residence. It was found that Clingensmith was highly intoxicated and had taken the female’s Jeep off-roading and possibly totaled it. Police observed the Jeep covered in mud with damage underneath and a pip hanging.
