POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

TERRORISTIC THREATS:
On December 1st, 2021, the New Castle Patrol Unit was dispatched to Mohawk School Road in North Beaver Township. Te incident occurred as the victim and the suspect were engaging in communication via social media SnapChat. During the communication, the suspect requested illicit photos from the victim during which he threatened her for them. The victim adhered to the suspects request and sent the illicit photos. This investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY:
New Castle Patrol Unit was dispatched to West State Road in Mahoning Township, Lawrence County after a call about a burglary. A leather Michael Cromer Munich back pack valued at $800.00 was stolen as well as $70,000.00 and a rear entry door lock was also damaged. Police say the incident took place between the times of 12:30 p.m. on October 16 and 2:28 a.m. on October 17. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call PSP New Castle at 724-598-2211.

DRUG BUST:
On Sunday, December 12th, 2021, Detectives from the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office Special Investigations Unit and Criminal Investigations Unit, New Castle City Police Narcotics, Union Township Police Department and the New Castle City Special Response Team executed a search warrant at 1613 South Jefferson Street in the City of New Castle. Located in the home at the time of the search was Mr. Devin Johnson and Ms. Mesha Scott. During the search Detectives found three plastic baggies containing approximately 68 grams of suspected heroin, one 12-gauge shotgun, one digial weigh scale, four cellular telephones, $60 in U.S. currency and one “Night Owl” surveillance DVR. Mr. Johnson was charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver, one count of Drug Paraphernalia and one count of Persons not to Possess. He was arrianged this afternoon and has been committed to the Lawrence County Jail with a bond of $100,000.
