Belzyck and Kralic Shine for Riverside in Beaver County Championships

The Beaver County Championships were held this past Saturday at Riverside High School and teams from all over Beaver County came to compete at one of the first big invitational of the 2021 season. Seniors Colby Belzyck and Graham Kralic from Riverside High School each took first place in more than one event to propel the Panthers to another championship. The Panthers won the invitational in 2019, but last years meet was cancelled due to COVID-19. Ellwood City Softball Earns Big Comeback With Walkoff Victory

The Ellwood City softball team displayed a tremendous amount of character and grit with a great walk off win over Avonworth Wednesday afternoon at Stiefel Park. The team overcame two different deficits by scoring seven runs over the final two innings to earn the 7-6 victory. In a rather successful afternoon for the local baseball and softball teams, Ellwood City baseball and softball teams both earned victories while the Riverside baseball team defeated Aliquippa handily. Mayor Anthony J. Court presented a proclamation to the Ellwood City Wolverines basketball team this week.
