Social Distancing Santa to Appear in Ellport

A ‘socially distancing’ Santa Claus will be making a special appearance in Ellport this weekend. Longtime Santa for the Ellwood City area Mac McAnallen will be hosting an event at 509 Golf Avenue in Ellport.  Santa will be hosting children on his deck, talking gifts and wishes for this Christmas. “I enjoy the children’s expressions and in the feeling I get doing so,” said McAnallen. 2021 Detour Planned For Route-288 Near Zelienople Airport

No worries for those last minute shoppers heading to Cranberry Township via Route-288 thru Zelienople. The realignment project of State Route 288 near the Zelienople Municipal Airport will not be causing a detour to impact traffic until beginning May 2021 according to PennDOT spokesperson Steve Cowan. “The detour is anticipated to begin in mid-May and last most of the construction season,” said Cowan. “The end date has not been determined because the schedule has not be finalized yet.  The design consultant thinks they will have additional info on the schedule at some point next week.” The construction is part of…

Armstrong Cable is offering the opportunity to ‘Zoom With Santa’ this holiday season. POLICE REPORTS: Criminal Complaints

The following are police criminal complaints filed at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Lawrence County office of Honorable Jerry G. Cartwright. Krista Knechtel, 40, of Ellwood City, is charged with Retail Theft after police were called to Dollar General on Wednesday, November 4. Upon arrival, police were advised by the store clerk and later identified Knechtel leading to police finding two packs of beef jerky, a pack of Kraft Cheese, a candle, a chocolate bar, and a pack of makeup totaling $20.51 in her purse.  Knechtel was released and charges will be filed upon criminal history check.
