The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: According to PA State Police, during the overnight hours between March 13 and March 14, a burglary took place in Perry Township. It was reported between 9pm on Saturday and 10:00am on Sunday, March 14th an unknown forced entry into a garage on Van Gorder Mill Road and stole several items. Some of the items taken from the garage include a chainsaw, several chains, rigid power tools, excaliber crossbow, quad winch and other miscellaneous tools. Riverside Softball Falls to Central Valley; Ellwood Tennis Defeated by Neshannock

The Lady Panthers struggled to get their offense going on Wednesday, getting easily dispatched by Central Valley, 14-4. Riverside fired up the offense in the first inning. Sydney Hale blasted a 2-run homerun as the Panthers raced out to three early runs. Central Valley responded with two runs in the bottom half of the frame and pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. [This is the first of our 2-Part Series spotlighting the Annual LHS Musical] After more than a year, the lights are back on in the Lincoln High School auditorium for four musical performances of The Addams Family this coming weekend. Cub Scout Pack 806 Holds Pinewood Derby

Ellwood City’s local Cub Scout Pack 806 held its annual Pinewood Derby on March 13 at the First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City with 35 boys participating. The top three finishers were Tiger Scout, Paul Agnew, first place, Webelo Scout, Jacob Donley, second place and Wolf Scout, Liam Woloszyn, third place. Fan Favorites was presented to Tiger Scouts, Wyatt Kyle and Luke Johnston. Best Effort/Sportsmanship was presented to Wolf Scout, Eddie Britton. Riverside Boys Tennis Defeats Ellwood City

The Riverside Boys Tennis team collected a 4-1 victory in tennis action Monday afternoon at Riverside High School. Ethan Hughes (6-3, 6-0) collected straight set victory in singles while Payne Hoover & Kaysen Conver (6-2, 6-3) and Avery Wolf & Liam Gallagher (6-3, 6-4) collected straight set victories to pace Riverside. Hunter Famsworth (6-3, 3-6, 6-2) also earned a singles victory for the host Panthers. Max Kuffer (6-3, 6-2) collected a straight set victory for the Wolverines lone point on the afternoon. Ellwood City Little Wolverines Football 2021 Registration Now Open!

Registration is now open for the Ellwood City Little Wolverines Football 2021 season. Registration cost is $125.00, plus a refundable $75 equipment deposit. This equipment deposit will be refunded upon the return of all issued equipment in good condition. (ECLWF does offer discounts on siblings registering, and the equipment deposit is per family.) First player is $125, sibling is $105, and third sibling is $85. The $75 equipment deposit may be paid at registration, but is not required for initial registration. Wolverines To Host Brookville In PIAA Quarterfinals

The Ellwood City boys basketball team, fresh off their first ever WPIAL Championship, will now turn their focus to the PIAA Playoffs that begin this weekend. The Wolverines will host a quarterfinal match-up at home on Saturday against Brookville with a tip-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Brookville (21-2 overall) beat Chestnut Ridge 68-58 Wednesday in the District 5-8-9 Class 3A subregional championship game. “Brookville is a strong test again for us,” said head coach Steve Antuono. “We will prepare as usual and look at them on tape. Ellwood City School Board Finance Committee Meeting Scheduled

In a public meeting nocie announcement, the Ellwood City Area School Board of Directors has scheduled a Finance Committee Meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 8, 2021 starting at 6:00 p.m. The combined Committee and Regular Board meeting will follow as previously scheduled. The meetings will be conducted in the Leslie Sabo Auditorium at Lincoln High School, 501 Crescent Avenue, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
