Riverside School District To Hold Full Virtual Learning On February 9

According to information made available on the district website, the Riverside Beaver County School District will hold a Virtual Day, February 9th and will operate on a regular schedule. Students will attend school virtually on Tuesday and the district will run on a regular schedule. Students will log into their Google Classroom at 7:35 AM. According to the district no transportation will be provided.  The district asks you to review the regular schedule posted on the district website for details. Antuono Scores 32, Wolverines Power Past Mohawk

Steve Antuono scored a game high 32 points to lead the Ellwood City Wolverines to its 78-45 romp over Mohawk Friday night. The junior connected on six 3-pointers, including four in the second half, to pace the Wolverines offensive attack.  Antuono scored 11 points in the fast paced first quarter which saw Ellwood City take an early 24-8 advantage. POLICE: Vehicle Accident On Lawrence Avenue Causes Damages

According to an Ellwood City Police Department report, and on Wednesday, February 3rd at approximately 11:00 p.m., a vehicle accident on Lawrence Avenue caused damages outside of a local restaurant establishment. Ellwood City Police were dispatched to 708 Lawrence Avenue at Mike’s Main Street for a motor vehicle accident. LEOC advised that a vehicle had struck the building. Upon arrival, police located the operator of a 2020 Ford Transit Van who was identified as Donald Frelin II, 31, of Ellwood City. The Ellwood City Girls Basketball team has collected two impressive victories at home this week. On Monday, the Lady Wolverines secured a section win over the visiting Beaver Falls Tigers by a score of 48-44. Ellwood City was led by junior Kyla Servick who poured in 15 points. Senior Maria Ioanilli joined Servick in double-digits posting 12 points, including two clutch free throws at the end of the game. Venezie Sporting Goods & Apparel Announces 2021 Scholarships

Venezie Sporting Goods & Apparel has announced its annual scholarship opportunity for area students this year.  The scholarship, now in its third year, will be available to four local school districts. “We love our community and we love our students, and it is time we continue to recognize them for all their hard work inside and outside of the classroom,” said Vice President of Operations, Vanessa Venezie. Toys For Tots Fundraiser A Success Among Borough Departments

With the pandemic taking away so much from children this year, the Borough of Ellwood City wanted to help make sure Christmas was not on the list. The borough held a Toys for Tots challenge among their departments over the holidays and generosity kicked into high gear. Keep the shovels and snow plows out Ellwood City! Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter on Tuesday during the annual Groundhog Day ceremony in Pennsylvania.
