POLICE: Traffic Stop Results in Drug Seizure From Multi-State Offender

On Monday, November 30, a traffic stop resulted in a seizure of suspected drugs and controlled substances from a multi-state offender. According to the complaint, police received information from a CI who related Jennifer Glassock, 36, of Conneaut, Ohio, was in possession of a large amounts of methamphetamine. Glasscock had an active warrant and was informed to be in the Ellwood City area operating a silver Nissan Altima with Florida registration. At approximately 2:20 p.m. police located Glassock and conducted a traffic stop in downtown Ellwood City on Lawrence Avenue near 7th Street. Upon approach police observed in plain view…

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities.  Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. PLEASE NOTE  Due to the surge in numbers of covid-19 cases in our area, the Ellwood City Area Public Library will be joining other public libraries in western Pennsylvania and will suspend in-person visits beginning Tuesday, November 24.  The Library will continue doing curbside pick-up. The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. PLEASE NOTE, WE’RE OPEN! The Library will be open by appointment only. Call the library to set up an appointment to browse for books or use a computer. Anything printed must be paid for with exact change or check. Riverside Beaver County School District Announces COVID-19 Dashboard

In a letter released on the district website this week by Superintendent Bret Trotta, the Riverside Beaver County School District has announced a COVID-19 Dashboard.  The statement reads as follows: Dear Riverside Families, In an effort to maintain open lines of communication with our families and reduce the number of phone calls associated with COVID-19, the Riverside Beaver County School District will begin to maintain the RBCSD COVID-19 Dashboard. Upcoming Ellwood City Wrestling Season Announced

Interested in wrestling? The Ellwood City Varsity and Junior High Wrestling season is starting soon! The first practice will take place on Friday, November 20, 2020, scheduled to take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Lincoln High School Cafeteria. Practices will be Monday thru Friday with optional lifting sessions three times a week at 3:10 p.m. There are temperature checks before every practice/hand sanitizer and the mats cleaned to CDC standards. There are several tournaments the team is planning to attend this season including, Panther Holiday Classic (Varsity Only), Mid-Winter Mayhem (Varsity Only), and West Mifflin Christmas Tournament….

EllwoodCity.org has collected our annual Halloween costume contest entries. Submitted photos will appear on EllwoodCity.org’s Facebook page in a 2020 HALLOWEEN CONTEST photo album. (VIEW PHOTO ALBUM) To vote for your favorite photo, simply ‘like’ it, then ‘share’ it to obtain more votes from your friends!  Voting continues on until 8:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12 when we will tally votes and announce our winners.  A Facebook ‘Like’ constitutes a vote. Girls Volleyball Team Advances To WPIAL Championship

Registration Open For 25th Annual Gobbler’s Gallop On Thanksgiving

The Gobbler’s Gallop turns a quarter century. The 25th annual Gobbler’s Gallop will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, at Riverside High School’s Memorial Stadium. The 10K race will start at 9:00 a.m. sharp while the 5k race will be begin at 10:15 a.m.  The event also offers a 5k for walkers that will begin at 9:0 a.m. Registration will begin at the Riverside Kindergarten Center at 8:00 a.m. for 10k and 5k walkers.  All people must wear a mask during registration and at the start of the race but not while running.
