DATE CHANGE: Lincoln High School Seniors Set To Celebrate 2021 Commencement

UPDATES: June 3rd, 2:21 p.m. – According to the Lincoln High School guidance offices, the commencement ceremony schedule for Thursday evening has been cancelled & postponed until Monday, June 7, 2021.

The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2021 will receive their diplomas Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.  The commencement will take place at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park.

Lincoln High School will be graduating 128 students this year. Among the 128 students, 17 will be graduating with highest honors.

Students receiving highest honors include Dorian Anderson, Emily Borroni, Emily Bowser, Alyssa Conley, Nico DeCaria, Makenna Hall,  Scarlett Hazen, Trisha Kerr, Jenny Lin, Devin Lust, Natalie Maine, Molly McCommons, Danielle McCowin, Eylsia Morris, Cassidy Navolio, Reina Pawlak, and Ireland Rinker.

Dorian K. Anderson, son of Mary Ann Lyttle, member of the History and Spanish Club, Club Hope Member, Caring Team Member, National Honors Society Member, Senior Class President, Six Year Member of Concert Choir. He also serves bi-weekly on Sundays at the Grace Community Church for toddlers. He plans on attending Saint Francis University to study in a five-year accelerated physician assistant science program, where he will earn his bachelor and master’s degree to become a physician assistant with a specialization in either dermatology, cardiology, or pediatrics. After this, he plans to work for two years and may seek higher education to become a doctor of dermatology. His ultimate goal is to work in the Midwest, where healthcare workers are needed.

Emily A. Borroni, daughter of Jeff and Stephanie Borroni, member of the Varsity Golf Team, Varsity Basketball, Cross Country, Marching Blue Band, Varsity Track and Field, Varsity Baseball Statistician, member of Castlewood Clay Crushers, member of Lawrence County Young Guns, Altar Server at Holy Redeemer Parish, PA Game Commission Instructor, member of the Caring Team, participated in the March of Dimes, member National Honors Society, and the Envirothon Club. She plans to attend University of Mount Union for Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Prosthesis, and a minor in Mathematics.

Emily A. Bowser, daughter of Jennifer and Kevin Bowser, member of the History Club, on Student Council, Lions Club Volunteer, member of the National Honors Society, 2021 Perfect Attendance Recipient, High Honor Roll, Hungarian Home Scholarship recipient. She is planning to attend Pennsylvania State University, University Park and eventually work as a Registered Dietitian in a school setting.

Alyssa M. Conley, daughter of Tammy Hayhurst, member of the National Honors Society, Varsity Cheerleader, member of the Cultural Club, and Vice President of the Physical Education Club. She will be attending Robert Morris University to major in Bio/Pre-Med to eventually become a Pediatrician.

Nico J. DeCaria, son of Joe and Tina DeCaria, member of Varsity Baseball, Student Council, Peer Leadership, National Honors Society, Outstanding Senior French Student, won the Nicholas N. and Ann M. Nixon award. He plans to attend Slippery Rock University to major in Mechanical Engineering.

Makenna J. Hall, daughter of Tahni and John Hall, member of the National Honors Society, Homecoming Court, Junior Class Treasurer, Varsity Track and Field, Cross Country, Unified Bocce, member of Club Hope, Art Club, Environmental Club, History Club, EC3, German Club, Caring Team and Student Council. Volunteered at, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Bethany Hospice, and Palliative Care Services. Won the Robert Morris Presidential Scholarship, PA American Water Stream of Learning Scholarship, Dr. V and Vijaya Rajasenan Leadership Scholarship, Wolves Club Den #2 of Ellwood City Scholarship, and Elder Family Ag & Turf Scholarship. She will be attending Robert Morris University to major in Environmental Science and hopes to enroll in the Peace Corps after receiving her undergraduate degree.

Scarlett A. Hazen, daughter of Shane and Talitha Hazen, member of National Honors Society, Concert Choir, Musical, EC Cubed and French Club. She has also won the Cindy Pertile Legacy of Caring Scholarship. She plans to attend Butler County Community College to pursue a career in secondary education.

Trisha L. Kerr, daughter of Bridgette Kerr, member of the Choir, Choral Capers, Danceline, Musical, Youth Group, Job at Shop ‘n Save, National Honors Society, Participant of the Club Hope Talent Show, and Bible Quizzer. She has also won the Gypsy Legacy Robe, Brua Gettig Memorial Scholarship, Slippery Rock Merit Scholarship, Team Emma Forever Scholarship,  and the Mary Decaro Memorial Education Scholarship. She is planning to attend Slippery Rock University to major in French and English Secondary Education.

Jenny Lin, daughter of Mei Chen and Qin Di Lin, member of the Caring Team, Spanish Club, Senior High Student Council, Peer Leadership, National Honors Society, and the Golf Team. She has received Salutatorian, Saint Francis University Founder’s Award Scholarship, Hazel Adams Memorial Scholarship, Dr. V. And Vijaya Rajasenan Medical Scholarship, and the Del Mar Golf Course/Jack Ferrante Memorial Scholarship. She is planning to attend Saint Francis University to become a Physician Assistant.

Devin M. Lust, son of John Lust and Nicole Hudson, member of the History Club and Boy’s Tennis. He has received the National Buckeye Scholarship, Provost Scholarship, Ohio State’s STEM Exploration and Engagement Scholars Program, and the Dennis M. Norman Memorial Scholarship. He will be attending Ohio State University to major in Machine Learning and Programming.

Natalie G. Maine, daughter of Sheri Maine, has been a apart of the Carpenter’s Project, Marching Band, National Honors Society. She was won the President’s Award for Educational Excellence (9th-12th), Perfect Attendance (10th grade) and the Jerb Miller Scholarship. She plans to attend Westminster College in hopes to open a Chiropractic Office in the future.

Molly McCommons, daughter of Kathy McCommons, President of National Honors Society, President of Peer Leadership, Senior Class Treasurer, President of International Club, Varsity Golf and Tennis, Director for “The Hartman News”, and Anchor for Lincoln’s morning announcements. She has also received Valedictorian, Coca-Cola National Scholarship, Elks Most Valuable Student National Scholarship, Horatio Alger National Scholarship, Grove City College Trustee Scholarship, Ellwood City High School Class of 1957 Scholarship, Wolves Den #2 of Ellwood City Scholarship, Domenic Viccari Scholarship ,Genevieve Blank Memorial Scholarship (Ellwood City Rotary Club), Mel Booher Memorial Scholarship, Lawrence County Bar Association Essay Contest Scholarship, Lincoln High School History Club Scholarship, Ellwood City Municipal Women’s Club Scholarship, Berkshire Hathaway’s Dream…Innovate…Grow Scholarship, Venezie Sporting Goods and Apparel Scholarship, Randy O’Brien Memorial Scholarship. She plans to attend Grove City College to major in  history or mathematics, following the pre-law track.

Danielle R. McCowin, daughter of Chris and Stacey McCowin, member of ,National Honor Society, Student Council, Peer Leadership, Varsity Volleyball Team Co-captain, History Club, Concert Choir, Unified Bocce Team Co-Captain, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Member and Alter Server, Yellow Ribbon Girls Volunteer, Carpenter’s Project, Central Valley Food Drive, VFC Food Drive. She has also received, Co-captain of Varsity Volleyball Team,  2020 WPIAL Mention/ Player to Watch, 2020 Stat Leader in kills and aces, 2020 1st Team All Section Player, 2020 1st Team All WPIAL player, Recognized as one of the Top 50 2A Players in the state,
Kent State President’s Achievement Award Scholarship, Kent State Honors Distinction Scholarship. She plans to attend Kent State University Honors College to major in engineering.

Elysia M. Morris, daughter of Emily and Don Morris, member of Varsity Tennis, National Honors Society, various clubs, and Community Service. She also has received High Honor Roll, Prom Queen, scholarships from Westminster for Academics and Room and Board. She will be attending Westminster College and will major to be a Nurse Practitioner.

Cassidy L. Navolio, daughter of Chris and Lacey Navolio, member of Varsity Tennis, National Honors Society, History Club, and Recreational Softball. She has also received, Youngstown State University Honors Housing Scholarship, Youngstown State University Honors Program Scholarship, and the Youngstown State University President’s Scholarship. She will be attending Youngstown State University, her major is undecided.

Reina L. Pawlak, daughter of Patrick and Rolinda Pawlak, Senior Class Vice President, National Honor Society, Junior Class Vice President, Art Club, Caring Team, Club Hope, Ellwood City Culture Club, History Club, Spanish Club, Student Council, Choral Capers, Ellwood City Musical, Homecoming Court, and Prom Court. She has also received, Outstanding Social Studies Student, President’s High Honors Award, Leadership Award and Perfect Attendance. She will be attending Penn State University with plans to study zoology and marine biology.

Ireland M.G. Rinker, daughter of Chris and Janet Rinker,  National Honor Society Vice President, French Club, Peer Leadership Secretary, Student Council. She has also received Robert Morris Liberty Scholarship, Rotary Club Annette Feldman Nursing Scholarship. She will attend Robert Morris University to become a Nurse Practitioner.
