Cambridge Retirement Living Announces Upcoming Events

Cambridge Retirement Living has announced two upcoming events within the community. On Wednesday May 5th, Cinco de Mayo will be celebrated at Cambridge Pointe from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m. B’s Sip of Summer Food Truck will be on site to provide food and prizes will also be made available as well. Free COVID-19 Vaccines Available At Worksite Medical

Worksite Medical in Ellwood City has announced free COVID-19 vaccines. At the moment, 1,200 Pfizer vaccines are available and they are currently first come first serve at the clinic. To be able to receive the vaccine, you must call the clinic and schedule an appointment or schedule one on the Worksite Medical website. You also will need to bring your drivers license or another form of ID and you will have to provide a phone number. The shot itself will take 10 minutes, afterwards you must sit for 15 minutes. ELLWOOD CITY SOFTBALL DEFEATS QUAKER VALLEY The Lincoln High School softball team improved their record to 9-2 on the season as they defeated Quaker Valley 18-2 Wednesday afternoon in Sewickley. The Wolverines posted 18 runs with only seven hits on the board. Aliya Garroway powered the offense with a 3-RBI afternoon (2-3, 1 3B) for the Wolverines.  Maria Ioanilli tripled and scored three times while Katelyn Wehman walked twice and also scored three times for Ellwood City. Ellwood City will be holding its Annual National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 6th at the Ellwood City Community Plaza. Ellwood City Junior High Softball Rolls By Beaver Falls and Shenango

The Ellwood City Junior High softball team racked up two big wins this past week against Beaver Falls and Shenango. After defeating their cross town rival Riverside last week, the Wolverines continued on their winning ways to bring their season record to 6-1. Pitchers Schwarz and Bogacki each pitched quick games this week with the team only playing eight innings between two games. Bogacki pitched the first game of the week on Monday against Shenango but didn’t have to stay in there long. Mrs. Betty J. Freson, 93 of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, April 24th, 2021 at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Betty was born on June 11th, 1927 in Rochester to the late Frank G. and Bessie (Brewer) Smith. She had graduated from the Lincoln High School with the class of 1945 and then attended West Minister College for accounting. The Borough of Ellwood City recently awarded its trash contract to Valley Waste and is now asking its residents to their choose desired options via several form options made available this week. Falk Homers, Powers Riverside Over Rival Ellwood City

Aaron Falk powered the Riverside Panthers to a 6-2 victory over Ellwood City Friday afternoon. Falk drove in runs with a single in the first, a double in the second, and a home run in the fifth inning. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT/CRIME BY DECEPTION: Ryan Hayes, 24, Sharon, is charged with Theft and Crime By Deception after an incident on March 25th in Wayne Township. According to a PA State Police report, a 43-year-old victim, of Ellwood City, reported a theft by Hayes whereas the victim sent Hayes $500.00 for a shed deposit and was going to give the rest of the money when picking up the shed.
