POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT/CRIME BY DECEPTION:
Ryan Hayes, 24, Sharon, is charged with Theft and Crime By Deception after an incident on March 25th in Wayne Township. According to a PA State Police report, a 43-year-old victim, of Ellwood City, reported a theft by Hayes whereas the victim sent Hayes $500.00 for a shed deposit and was going to give the rest of the money when picking up the shed. The victim related Hayes agreed and then stopped answering the victim once he received the deposit money. Hayes later refused to return the money to the victim or proceed with the sale.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS:
According to the PA State Police report, Andrew Mercado, 33, Koppel was found under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance in a public setting on April 8th at approximately 9:00 p.m. whereas the defendent may have endangered himself or other persons or proper, or annoy persons in his vicinity. Mercado was charged with Public Drunkenness and Similar Conduct.

FRAUD:
The New Castle Police Department investigated a fraud incident. According to the report, the victim, a 69-year-old male had his computer and E-Trade account comprimised. The Actor(s) took apporximately $27,000 from the victims account over the course of several days.

TERRORISTIC THREATS:
The New Castle Police Department responded to an active domestic altercation in Wayne Township in the early hours on April 22nd. According to the report, and upon further investigation, it was determined that the arrestee, Steven Ambroziak, 35, of New Castle, got into a dispute with the 31-year-old victim and it escalated into physical violence. Ambroziak is charged with terroristic threats, harassment, and disorderly conduct, and was subsequently incarcerated at the Lawrence County Jail.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:
PA State Police responded to a one vehicle accident in Wilmington Township on April 19 at 5:40 p.m. According to the report, two people involved in the crash, the driver, Christine Guerrini, 52, Ellwood City, and Russel Moore, 59, were driving North on SR 956. Their vehicle, a 2014 GMC Terrain, had a mechanical failure on the passengers side tire. The car went off the road and hit into a fence post and continued to go North until hitting into a tree. There were no serious injuries sustained.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:
PA State Police responded to a one vehicle accident in New Beaver Boro on April 6th just before 6:00 p.m. According to the report, Samantha Pinkle, 23, Wampum, was traveling North on SR 18 when her car, a 2013 Honda Civic, went off the road and hit a gas meter off the right side of the roadway. The car kept going North and through a yard and hit a house. No serious injuries were reported.
