POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

BURGLARY: On March 3rd at approximately 5:10 p.m., the PA State Police Beaver Station was dispatched to a business in Georgetown Borough, Beaver County for a report of a burglary. According to the police report, and at some time between 6:00 p.m and 4:45 a.m., unknown actor(s) forcibly entered the property of Georgetown Sand and Gravel, damaged the security system, the surveillance cameras and stole approximately $1,000 in cash. The unknown actor(s) fled the area into West Virginia. Actors were seen leaving the area at approximately 4:45 a.m. It is believed that the actor(s) are operating a white Ford Truck…

Ellwood City Bocce Team Advances To PIAA/SOPA State Championships

The Ellwood City Bocce Team has advanced to the PIAA/SOPA State Championships! The team collected three victories and a first place finish at the regional championships held last week at Geneva College. There were 10 schools from the different sections represented. The top two teams advanced, and the Wolverines were one of them. Ellwood City defeated Bethel Park, 7-2, and Pine Richland, 5-3, before wrapping up their impressive performance with a 12-2 victory over Chartiers Valley in their final match. Four Riverside Swimmers Set To Compete At PIAA State Swimming Championships

Senior Sam Kline leads a host of four Riverside swimmers who have qualified and will participate in the PIAA Class 2A State Swimming Championships this week at the Kinney Natatorium at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA The Riverside swim team also sends two relay teams to the Class 2A championships scheduled to take place March 15th and 16th.
