Christian Lucarelli struck out 11 Wildcat batters over 4 2/3 shutout innings as the Panthers shutout Shenango 11-0 to complete its mini series sweep. Lucarelli allowed only two hits – both singles – and three walks in his victory on the rubber. The win pushes the Panthers record to 7-0 on the season. The Wolverines varsity softball team scored 15 runs for the second consecutive game – this time it took just three innings for the mercy rule to end things as they beat Beaver Falls 15-0 Wednesday evening. REMINDER: Community Garden Poster Contest Deadline Friday

The deadline for the Community Garden Poster Contest is Friday! The Ellwood City Borough Department of Public Works opened up the contest last month to all children between the ages of 4-12 to participate by submitting their carefully crafted and drawn artwork. Space Still Available For Municipal Woman’s Spring Craft Show

Vendor space is still available for the upcoming Municipal Woman’s Spring Craft Show scheduled to take place next month. Come out and exhibit to take part in the craft show that will take place on May 6th at the Wayne Township Firehall. Vendor fee is $25.00 and will earn a space with a table. Ellwood City Area Historical Monthly Meeting Recap

The April 10, 2023 meeting of the Ellwood City Area Historical Meeting was called to order at 7:00PM by Bob Morabito, President, reminding those present of the mission of the Society. He then asked WWII Veteran Guy Prestia to lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Morabito announced that Guy will celebrate his 101st birthday on Tuesday, April 25! Edward “Ed” Louis Fox

Edward “Ed” Louis Fox passed away peacefully on April 1, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born in 1935 in Ellwood City, PA to Milford and Rose (Horvath) Fox. He was the youngest of four children. After graduating from Lincoln High School in the class of 1954, Ed enlisted in the Air Force, where he served for four years. In 1961, while enrolled at Geneva College, he met Rose Dimasi and they married in June 1962 (on 6/2/62!). They had two children, Gregory and Christie, and lived in New Castle, PA. Panthers Stay Unbeaten With Victory Over Shenango; Ellwood City Falls To Neshannock

Riverside took a late lead to defeat Shenango 6-3 on Tuesday to remain unbeaten on the regular season. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Panther slugger Bo Fornataro singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs as part of the four run inning that pushed the host Panthers ahead 6-2. Donald Eugene Adams was born June 22nd, 1933 in a rural farmhouse in Belmont County Ohio. He was born to Robert and Pearl Adams, and younger brother to Robert Adams. His childhood was spent in Bellaire, Ohio and lived a typical life among family and friends. Eventually, his talents as a musician developed and became apparent to all.
