Knights Of Columbus Provided Donation To Divine Grace

The Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council 11389 provided a $500 donation to the Divine Grace Ministerium Social Services this week Pictured below and receiving the check are Jan Baur and Cathy DeBlaso, co-directors of Social Services. Hank Glogowski, Grand Knight and Social Services Volunteer is on the right. The Knights of Columbus support the Social Services financially as well as providing volunteers to unload food trucks, bag food for distribution and distribute food to 350 area families on a regular basis. Ethan Santillo and Ronnie Harper combined to twirl a two-hit five inning shutout in Riverside’s 10-0 victory over Union Area during Tuesday afternoon’s senior day game. Santillo started the contest, going three innings while Harper closed out the five inning mercy rule victory with two innings in relief. Each pitchers allowed only one hit and walk while striking out two hitters each in their line of work. Riverside Claims Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Hopewell

Riverside nabbed the lead late in the game in a 10-6 victory over Hopewell on Friday to remain unbeaten. The Panthers trailed 6-5 in the top of the fifth inning when Evan Burry doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. Hopewell scored four runs in the second inning, but Riverside still managed to pull out the victory. Central Valley Withstands Furious Rally By The Lady Wolverines To Hold Onto A 5-4 Victory

Central Valley jumped out to a 5-0 lead and withstood a furious late inning rally by the Lady Wolverines to come out with a 5-4 victory on Saturday. Saturday marked the 50th Beaver County Track and Field Championships competition held at Riverside High School. Ellwood City and Riverside teams were well represented and turned in some podium-worthy performances and all four teams put together top ten finishes. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT: On April 12th at approximately 4:44 p.m., PA State Police investigated a report of a stolen firearm from a residence on Burns Road, Lawrence County. According to the report, a black in color Spike Tactical AR-15 style rifle, chambered in 5.56 caliber, was stolen as the suspect gained access to the victim’s unlocked vehicle, stealing the rifle from the rear seat. There is an approximate 4-day window from when the 18-year-old male victim last saw his rifle and when he noticed it missing. An investigation is going. The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den 11 celebrated their 75th Anniversary with a Dinner at the Connoquenessing Country Club on Wednesday. The Dinner was attended by 85 members and their guests, including the current National Wolves Club President, Craig Mamone of Rochester, PA. The master of ceremonies, long time member Ray Santillo, conducted the program and highlighted the history of the club. The club began in 1948 by four local businessmen (Brothers Deno and Frank Barsotti, P O Contrucci and A P Folino) chartered in 1951 and received their seal in 1954. Baney Presents Historical Society With Booklet On Wiley Hill Baptist Church

Monday night at the monthly Ellwood City Historical Society meeting, attorney Dylan Baney presented the Society with a large booklet on the history of the Wiley Hill Baptist Church. Accepting the gift from Dylan is Andy Kindle (pictured right), first Vice President of the Historical Society. Looking on, and standing to left, is Lawrence County Commissioner, Dan Vogler. Baney graduated from Lincoln High School in 2015. He attended Slippery Rock University and obtained a Bachelors degree in political science.
