FORE! Ellwood City Golf Team Off To Quick 2-0 Start To Season

The Ellwood City golf team returned to action less than 24 hours after picking up their first victory on the season in section play as they took on the Beaver from Delmar on Wednesday and collected its second victory of the young season.

Sophomore Jordan Keller continued to his phenomenal early season play with a round of 36 to lead the Wolverines to its 201-219 victory over the Bobcats.

Mitch Covert joined Keller in the sub-40 club with a round of 38 on Wednesday. Carson Cappello (40), Colten Crizer (43), and Nate Kennedy (44) rounded out the scoring.

For Keller, his par round on Wednesday backed up a 1-over round of 37 on Tuesday afternoon at the par-36 Sylvan Heights Golf Course as Ellwood City downed Union 197-229 to earn the season-opening victory.

Mitch Cover and Colten Crizer each posted rounds of 38 to help the Wolverines earn the road victory over the Scotties. Jaxon Rozanski (42) and Carson Capello (42) rounded out the scoring.

The Wolverines (2-0 Overall, 1-0 Section) will take a day break before a big time section matchup against the Mohawk Warriors on Friday. Tee time is 3:00 p.m. home at Delmar Golf Course.
