PHOTOS: Annual Ellwood City Easter Egg Hunt

The Annual Ellwood City Easter Egg Hunt returned to the grounds of Ewing Park on Saturday, this year under new guidance. The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2023 Easter Egg Hunt event after the prior committee retired and turned the event over to the new guidance. The free community event was most hippity-hoppity and featured pony rides, petting zoo, face painting, and of course – egg hunting!  The event handed out over 15,000 eggs! Butler Memorial Hospital Wins HeartFlow CT Quality Award

Butler, PA – Butler Memorial Hospital’s radiology & diagnostic imaging department and cardiology team were recently awarded the HeartFlow CT Quality Award in the 4nd quarter of 2022. Recipients of the HeartFlow CT Quality Award are determined based on metrics assessing the quality and adoption of a medical center’s cardiovascular imaging program. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT: Devin Brandon, 35, of Ellwood City, is charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking and Theft by Deception after an incident reported on March 6th. According to a criminal complaint, a victim reported a theft that occurred at a residence on Wampum Avenue whereas the victim reported to have hired Brandon to complete work on his truck and Harley Davidson and paid Brandon up front for parts before completing the work. Ellwood City Library Hosting Artist-Led Painting Event

It’s time to get creative! Join artist Nina Battaglia as she shows you how to get creative with a project titled Mixed Media Flowers. The Ellwood City Public Library will be hosting the artist-led event on Friday, April 28th beginning at 6:30 p.m. Participants will be guided through creating a unique mixed media artwork of a springtime scene. Battaglia will being by painting a canvas panel using acrylic paint, and then cutting and collaging pieces of painted paper to the backgrounds to make up flowers and raindrops to bring the scene to life. Lady Wolverines Nip Mohawk 4-3, Improves to 4-1 Overall

Wednesday evening’s game between Ellwood City and Mohawk at Stiefel Park had a playoff feel even though it was just the second section game for both squads. Both pre-season favorites to compete for the section crown entered the game with 0-1 section records and the winner would jump right back into the section race while the loser would be in a deeper hole. Ellwood City Decorated with Signs & Teal Ribbons For SAAM Day of Action

Mayor Anthony J. Court, Ellwood City Council and the Ellwood City Police Department joined forces with ARISE, formerly the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County, on Tuesday, April 4th to recognize SAAM Day of Action. The first Tuesday of every April is the Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) Day of Action. The Day of Action is an opportunity to start off the month with highly visible and coordinated actions. Ellwood City Tennis Defeats Rival Riverside

Ellwood City leaned on Ryan Odom who earned a singles match victory to propel Ellwood City to a 3-2 victory over rival Riverside on Tuesday. Odom defeated Jaden Falk 6-5 and 7-5. For Riverside, Samuel Hughes collected a singles victory, defeating Grady Smith of Ellwood City 6-0 and 6-3.
