The Borough of Ellwood City and the Ellwood City Revitalization have combined efforts to bring some new beautification to downtown.

In June, the Borough of Ellwood City received a $2,000.00 2023 National Pennsylvania Day Mini Grant that was used to assist with costs to replace planter boxes along Lawrence Avenue. The Ellwood City Revitalization matched the grant last month and presented a check to the Ellwood City Borough for $2,000.00 (pictured).

The combined money helped with costs of the stone planter boxes and the topiary trees planted inside each planter box along Lawrence Avenue. The topiary tree planting was a volunteer project that took place Thursday morning with a group of about 40 volunteers helping with the planting and cleaning up of trash and debris on Lawrence Avenue.

I love the planters but wish the plants were real. Plastic plants are not very stylish

  2. All that work, and all those donations for those beautiful planters, and you put fake plants in them.

  3. After all the effort put into this project, it’s a shame that real plants weren’t used.
