PHOTO: Mayor Court Presents Pickleball Commendations

This week Mayor Anthony J. Court presented commendations to a group of individuals who played a part in getting the pickleball park in Ewing Park.

Council members George Celli, Michelle Lamenza, and Jim Barry, along with Borough Manager Kevin Swogger, John Dibuono, and Kitchen Cabinet members Earla Marshall, Barb Bohizic, and Brian Franksain were on hand for the commendations presented by Mayor Court.

The Kitchen Cabinet made a donation for the fencing around the courts.

Wondering what exactly pickleball is? USA Pickleball describes it as:

  • A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
  • Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net.
  • Played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.
  • Played as doubles or singles.
  • Can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels
