POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT:
On July 24th at approximately 8:51 p.m., PA State Police responded to a report of theft from a vehicle at McConnells Mill Park, Slippery Rock Township. According to the report, and the 29-year-old female victim from Butler, the driver side front window of a 2008 Jeep was smashed and a small multicolor Grateful Dead danccing bear backpack purse was stolen from the vehicle. It was determined that the theft occurred between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Anyone with information, please contact PA State Police 724-598-2211 and reference incident number PA2023-974172

BURGLARY:
On July 24th at approximately 6:12 p.m, PA State Police responded to a report of a burglary that ocurred in the area of Mile Hill Road, Perry Towsnhip. According to the report, and the 47-year-old male victim from Clinton, PA, three dirt bikes were stolen from a barn on the property between 4:25 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on July 24th. The dirt bikes are reported to be a 2017 Honda CRF 240, a Yamaha 250F, and a Honda 125, all dirt bikes were fluourescent yellow with the number 537 all around the bike. THEFT:
According to a filed report on June 21, 2023, two green in color golf carts were stolen from DelMar Golf Course in Wayne Township between the dates of 9/15/22 and 9/31/22. The golf carts are listed as 2016 Green Club Cars, Electric Vehicles Low Speed Golf Cars. The investigation is ongoing.



SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Patrick Hughes, 51, of Oil City, is charged with Simple Assault and Harrassment after an incident on July 15th. According to the criminal complaint, and at approximately 7:04 p.m., police were dispatched to an area on PA-488, Perry Township for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, police made contact with the female victim who related that Hughes was driving home from Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital with the victim when the female began to use her phone and Hughes attempted to take it away from her and struck her in the face. The complaint further relates that Hughes shook the female victim, spat on her an dstruck her int he back of the head.

HARRASSMENT:
William Maine, 52, of Ellwood City is charged with Harrassment after an incident in May 2023. According to a criminal complaint, and on May 28th at approximately 10:14 p.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of Grim Avenue, Ellport for a male that was chasing people and screaming obscene language at them. Officers responded and spoke to two people in the area who related they saw Maine but police could not locate Maine. On Monday, May 29th, two 22-year-old female victims came into ECPD to report they were victims of the harrassment and filed a report. The complaint relates the victims were on a walk on Grim Avenue when a male, identified as Maine, was following them and that when then confronted Maine he told them they better run and that he was going to kill them. The victims ran to get away from Maine, feeling threatened, and locked themselves inside their residence.

On August 2, 2023, Detectives from the Lawrence County District Attorney’s HIDTA Drug Task Force, under the lead of one of its case agents from the Union Township Police Department, executed a sealed search warrant at 1717 East Washington Street apartment #2, New Castle, Pennsylvania 16101. The Lawrence County Critical Incident Response Team was utilized to make the entry into the apartment. Upon entry, the target of the investigation, Mr. Jeremiah ALY, Mr. Trayshawn JOHNSON-MYERS, and four (4) juveniles fled to a third-floor apartment inside the building which was unoccupied and hid inside of a bathroom. Assorted United States currency and clear plastic baggies containing suspected narcotics littered the floor inside of the third-floor apartment. Detectives conducted a search of the second-floor apartment and a total of 194 grams of suspected fentanyl, a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 assault rifle, a GSG-16 .22 caliber rifle, a Taurus GX4 9mm handgun, and assorted drug paraphernalia were located inside. A subsequent search warrant was executed in the unoccupied third-floor apartment and an additional $2,080.00 in U.S. currency and 45 grams of suspected fentanyl was discovered. Mr. ALY, Mr. JOHNSON-MYERS, and the four juveniles are being charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and will be lodged in the Lawrence County Jail and/or holding facilities pending the case outcome.

CHILD ENDANGERMENT:
Dylan Jesse Hinchberger, 29, and Kayla Dyanne Lutz, 30, both of Ellwood City, are each charged with Child Endangerment after an incident in July. According to the report, on July 1st, police served a narcotics search warrant at their residence on Eight Street and seized suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The search also located a 6-month-old baby in the residence who was sent to Lawrence County Children and Youth Services and later tested positive for cocaine after testing at a nearby hospital. Children and Youth turned the baby over to the custody of foster parents following the hospital test, the report said. Lutz and Hinchberger face one felony count each of child endangerment. Warrants have been issued for their arrests.
