Mayor Court Receives Invite To Farewell Ceremony For Local Pastor

Mayor Anthony J. Court was proud to accept a personal hand delivered invite to Pastor Angelique Bradford’s farewell ceremonies. Worship begins at 11am and reception at 12:30pm on June 20, 2021 at the First Methodist Church in Ellwood City. In a statement from Mayor Court, he said “I am honored to be a guest speaker to this wonderful occasion! From a selfish standpoint, I’m really going to miss my good friend! Best wishes and may God bless all your future endeavors. Angelique, I’m forever thankful for your service to our community.”  


First 2021 Beautification Award Presented

The 1st “Mayor Court’s 2021 Beautification Award” was presented to Emrica Shaffer and Michael Frisk of 232 Hazel Avenue. “Looks great,” said Mayor Court in a statement. “They did a beautiful job-all around!” The winners were presented with a yard sign and a gift certificate from a local restaurant. There are 5 more winners to be presented with this award from Mayor Court. The Mayor’s office encourages area residents to get those nominations submitted. Vision Ministries Hosts Fourth Annual Braveheart Testimonial Dinner

Vision Ministries will be hosting the fourth annual Braveheart Testimonial Dinner on May 23rd. The dinner will take place at the New Englander Banquet Center. Doors will open up at 5:00 p.m. and dinner will begin at 5:45 p.m. Tickets are $35.00 per person. This dinner shines light and recognition on the people who have battled the disease of addiction and have won. V-E Day Celebrated; Ceremony Held On Saturday

Victory in Europe (V-E) Day is celebrated annually on May 8th to recognize the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Germany’s unconditional surrender. Mayor Court To Speak At V-E Day Ceremony

Mayor Anthony Court will be the guest speaker at a Wreath-laying Ceremony in honor of the 76th Anniversary of the Allied Victory in Europe (V-E Day) to be held at the World War Two monument in front of the Ellwood City Municipal Building on Saturday, May 8 at 10:00 a.m. After Mayor Court’s address, the wreath laying will be done by the Ellwood City American Legion J. Mayor Court Announces 2021 Beautification Award Program

Get ready, let’s bring our community back to life! It’s that wonderful time of the year again and Mayor Anthony J. Court is starting his “Beautification Award Program”. This is the 11th year for the program and, according to the Mayor’s office, each year there are more and more nominations. This year, six lucky winners will be chosen from May 1st through June 15th. Mayor Court Swears In Officer Joshua Sipe

A recently hired police officer was sworn in by Mayor Anthony Court on November 30, 2020. Officer Joshua Sipe is a full-time officer. Ellwood City Police Department now has 10 full-time officers and 3 part-time officers in the department.  The new officer was sworn in at Mayor Court’s office in the Ellwood City Municipal Building. Proclamation Presented to EC Girls Volleyball Team

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented a proclamation to the Ellwood City girls volleyball team, remarking on the team’s outstanding accomplishments. The team finished with a 17-1 overall record earning a Class 2A, Section 1 championship and WPIAL Finals appearance. “Proud of this special group on an outstanding season!” said Mayor Court in a statement. “Congratulations girls!” The Wolverines were ousted by North Catholic 3-1 in the WPIAL Class 2A championship November 7 at Fox Chapel, suffering their lone defeat of the season. Borough of Ellwood City Hires New Part-Time Police Officer

The Borough of Ellwood City has hired a new part-time police officer. Officer Salvador “Sal” Zepeda started his first day on the job Wednesday after being hired by Ellwood City Borough Council on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. Zepeda is the departments third part-time officer. Mayor Anthony Court and Council President George Celli swore in the new officer who started his duties this week.  According to the ECPD, Mayor Court and Council President Celli were instrumental in getting Officer Zepeda hired. Mayor Court Announces Weekly WXED Radio Show

Mayor Anthony J. Court has announced this week a weekly radio show on WXED FM 107.3. DJ Ricky Venezie hosts to Mayor Court weekly with Mary Ann Schaffer also involved in the segment. Each week Mayor Court informs the listeners to what’s happening in the city. Ricky V. calls the show “The Pulse of the City” and no one knows more about Ellwood City than Mayor Court.
