“Angeline Riccardo Day” Declared In Ellwood City

Mayor Anthony J. Court has declared Tuesday, September 15, 2020 as “Angeline Riccardo Day” in Ellwood City. Mayor Court presented a proclamation in observance of Mrs. Riccardo’s 100th birthday. Mrs. Riccardo was married for 57 years to Armond Riccardo, has 3 children, James, Ron and Allan and was blessed with 8 grandchildren. “Mrs. Riccardo is an outstanding citizen that won the respect of her family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances,” said Mayor Court in a statement. Victory Over Japan Day, also known as VJ Day, and its 75-year anniversary was celebrated this week. Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court & WW II Veterans from Ellwood City and American Legion Post #157, along with Lawrence County and Beaver County Honor Guards celebrated VJ Day at the American Legion Park. Mayor Anthony J. Court presented a Proclamation to American Legion Post, Commander Joe Fisher commending the victory. Mayor Urges Community to Slow Down; Council Hires Part-Time Officer

During Monday’s Borough Council Meeting, Mayor Anthony Court had one message for the community: Slow down and obey traffic signs. Court warned that if he continues to receive complaints about speeding and other traffic violations, police will setup points of surveillance and tickets will be issued. “Gotta slow down,” Court said. “It’s that simple.” He said numerous complaints have been made about violations on Sunset Boulevard and Perry Street as well as other areas in the borough. 2020 Mayor’s Beautification Awards To Commence

It’s that beautiful time of the year again! Mayor Anthony J. Court will be starting his “Beautification Award Program” in Ellwood City. This has been a trying year and now it’s time to bring life back to our neighborhoods. Mayor Court started this program 10 years ago and it has been a huge success. Mayor Court Declares April 23rd “Joe Gasper Day”

Our area’s last World War II Pearl Harbor Survivor will turn 102 years of age on Thursday, April 23. In conjunction with the birthday celebration for Ellwood City native Joseph Michael Gasper, Mayor Anthony J. Court is honoring Mr. Gasper with a proclamation. PUBLIC NOTICE: Special Borough Council Meeting Date Announced

According to information made available this afternoon, the Borough of Ellwood City has announced a date for a special council meeting for this Friday, March 27, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. The council meeting will be done remotely, with Council conducting the special meeting by conference call. Ellwood City Police Officers Make Donation Towards LHS Field Trip

Mayor Anthony Court and Lt. David Kingston representing the Ellwood City Police Officers make a donation towards an annual field trip for Lincoln High School students, Teacher Mr. Gaibis, U.S. Advanced Placement Government and Politics class. The students will be attending a Pennsylvania Supreme Court session in Philadelphia in March of 2020.  The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania is the highest court in the Commonwealth and the oldest appellate court in the nation.
