Patricia (Patty) Skvarla, 89, of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh. Born July 30, 1935 in Lower Chewton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sylvia Leopardo. Patty graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. She was very active in the community, being a member of the Women of the Moose, the Municipal Women’s Club, Challengers, and various card clubs. Louis W. “Macy” Miller, 91, of Wampum passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a brief illness. Born June 21, 1933 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Frank Sr. and Bertha Toth Miller. He was married to Carol A. Mohr Miller. Macy retired in June 1995 from Medusa where he worked as a mechanic. Catholic by faith, Macy was a Veteran of the Army serving in Korea. He enjoyed fishing and watching the trains behind his house. “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” On July 18, 2024, Winifred Yvonne Goatley Daniel departed this life at the home of her daughter after a short illness. Born in Chewton, PA August 20, 1937 to William and Imogene Goatley, she graduated from Wampum High School (’55) and Central State University (BA ’60).
