Edward E. Everstine, 91

Edward E. Everstine, 91, of Fombell passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026. He was the son of the late George and Ruth (Raby) Everstine and was born June 4, 1934, in Mobile, AL.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis (Mowry) Everstine his children; Carrie Everstine of Fombell, Douglas Everstine of Fombell, Jill Main and her husband Stephen of Slippery Rock, his grandchildren; Kathryn Burr and her husband Kevin of Slippery Rock, Margaret Free and her husband James of Butler, great-grandchildren; Emma Burr, Abigail Burr, Garrett Burr, and Charles Free, his brother-in-law; Stanley Mowry and his wife Janet, Dean Mowry and his wife Beth and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed was a 1952 graduate of Jeromesville High School in Ohio. After high school he was employed by Mansfield Tire. He enlisted in the US Army in 1954 and completed his basic training at Fort Knox, KY. Ed was an MP at Inchon Bay Korea during the peace negotiations of the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He attended Ashland College where he met the love of his life, Phyllis Mowry. Their courtship lasted only 6 months and they were married June 22, 1958. He graduated in 1961, with a bachelors degree in education.

Ed, Phyllis and their family have attended Camp Run United Presbyterian church for over 60 years. He was a math and science teacher before becoming a science school supplies salesman for over 20 years. He was last employed by Club Julian Fitness Club in the maintenance department before he retired. He had his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying Cessna 172. He also was a handyman, enjoyed reading and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

His was preceded in death by an infant grandson; Matthew Main, and four-half brothers and four-half sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 1pm at the Camp Run United Presbyterian Church located at 489 Church Rd in Harmony, PA 16037 with Rev. James Swanson, officiating.

Inurnment will be in the Camp Run Cemetery.
