Mrs. Helen M. Giancola, 79, of North Sewickley Twp. passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2016 in the Good Samaritan Hospice. Mrs. Giancola was born on February 4, 1937 in Ellwood City to the late Ernest and Theresa Sandora DeCaro, Sr.. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. Mrs. Janet E. Hufnagel, 71, of Portersville passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 in the VNA Hospice, Butler, Pa. Mrs. Hufnagel was born on October 21, 1945 in Ellwood City to the late Wilmer R. and Adda E. Twentier Young. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1963. For 23 years she worked at Butler Refrigerated Meats as the secretary for the transportation department. She is also a member of the Mountville Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed going to auctions, working puzzles, and most of all quilting and belonged to the Wurtembug Presbyterian Church Quilting Club….

Victor Lemoyne Brown, 94, of Perry Township, went to be with the Lord, and his beloved wife and childhood sweetheart, Molly, on Friday, January 20, 2017.He died peacefully at his home, “Sleepy Hollow”.  He was born on April 5, 1922 in Gainesville, Florida. Lucille B. Freed, 91, of West Pittsburg passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a short illness. Born February 7, 1925 in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary E. Richey Stickle. She was married to Edward L. Freed for 51 years when he passed away on January 16,1999. Dale R. Lipan, 56, of Fombell passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in his residence. Dale was born on October 22, 1960 in Fombell to the late Joseph and Ann Schumack Lipan. Mr. Harold J. Johns, 98, formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in the Passavant Retirement and Health Center. Mr. Johns was born on September 3, 1918 in New Castle to the late Carl and Mary Friday Johns. Harold enlisted with the U.S. Army on May 19, 1941 and served with the 48th Ordnance Company until his discharge on January 19, 1946 with the rank of Technical Sergeant.
