Arlene B. MacDonald, 90, of Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Haven Nursing Home. Born February 11, 1936 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Alvi Ross VanGorder and Mary VanGorder Kennedy. She married John R. “Jack” MacDonald on April 27, 1956. Together they shared 65 years of marriage until his passing on April 1, 2022. Arlene graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a lifelong member of Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church where she previously served as a deacon, choir member, janitor, secretary, and teacher. Denise N. Allison, 74, of Ellwood City passed away on the morning of Wednesday, July 8th, 2026 at Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at New Wilmington. Denise was born in Ellwood City to Charles and Martha (Dillaman) Allison on June 21st, 1952. She had worked at Medusa Cement, later known as C-Mex, for many years as an equipment operator. Ruth Mae Hardy, 92, of New Beaver Borough passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 28, 1933 in Middlebourne, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harold Harmon and Ethel Mae Eddy Reed. She married Edwin W. “Bud” Hardy on May 15, 1954. Paul Daniel Shirley, 51, of Fombell passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at his residence following a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born April 1, 1975 in Latrobe, he was the son of Kenneth and Emma Jane Warren Shirley of Latrobe. Daniel graduated from Latrobe High School and from Penn State University. Fabio A. Arevalo, of New Brighton and formerly of Queens, New York passed on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, in Pittsburgh, after a long battle with cancer.
