Arlene B. MacDonald, 90, of Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Haven Nursing Home. Born February 11, 1936 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Alvi Ross VanGorder and Mary VanGorder Kennedy. She married John R. “Jack” MacDonald on April 27, 1956. Together they shared 65 years of marriage until his passing on April 1, 2022. Arlene graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a lifelong member of Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church where she previously served as a deacon, choir member, janitor, secretary, and teacher. Denise N. Allison, 74, of Ellwood City passed away on the morning of Wednesday, July 8th, 2026 at Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at New Wilmington. Denise was born in Ellwood City to Charles and Martha (Dillaman) Allison on June 21st, 1952. She had worked at Medusa Cement, later known as C-Mex, for many years as an equipment operator. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert R. Witherow, 74, of North Sewickley Township at his home on July 4, 2026 after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Robert was born in Ellwood City on June 18, 1952 to the late Raymond C. and Jeannette Witherow. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1970. Fabio A. Arevalo, of New Brighton and formerly of Queens, New York passed on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, in Pittsburgh, after a long battle with cancer.
