Louis W. “Macy” Miller, 91, of Wampum passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a brief illness. Born June 21, 1933 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Frank Sr. and Bertha Toth Miller. He was married to Carol A. Mohr Miller. Macy retired in June 1995 from Medusa where he worked as a mechanic. Catholic by faith, Macy was a Veteran of the Army serving in Korea. He enjoyed fishing and watching the trains behind his house. Ruth Middleton, 76, of Koppel passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born February 19, 1948 in Brown City, MI, she was the daughter of the late Hazen G. and Minnie L. Joan Adele Birkins (nee Nelson), 93, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31st 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Joan was the daughter of the late Carl and Ruth (Hansel) Nelson. “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” On July 18, 2024, Winifred Yvonne Goatley Daniel departed this life at the home of her daughter after a short illness. Born in Chewton, PA August 20, 1937 to William and Imogene Goatley, she graduated from Wampum High School (’55) and Central State University (BA ’60). Jim Morton of Ellwood City passed away on July 23, 2024 after a two month battle with Glioblastoma. He was peacefully surrounded and wrapped in love by his family.
