John Hudson, 58, of North Sewickley Township passed at the UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township on Sunday, October 4th 2026.
John was born on February 16th,1968 at Mary Evan’s Hospital in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Walter and Nancy (McKelvey) Hudson. John graduated from Riverside High School with the class of 1986. He served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years, he was stationed in Rhode Island as a diesel mechanic on the USS Exploit. He was awarded Meritorious Unit Commendation, Battle Efficiency “E” Award, Good Conduct, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Naval Reserve Sea Service Ribbon. Following his service with the Navy John attended CCBC for IT and an elective of photography. For many years John worked for Butler Refrigerated Meats as technical support for all the warehouses, and was the owner/operator of Hudson Photography. He also served as the treasurer for the North Sewickley Township Volunteer Fire Department. John is a member of the Bricks and Bibles Club and a long time 4-H supporter. He enjoyed building Legos and loved his cats.
He is survived by his three siblings, Gary Hudson and his wife Sandy of Koppel Pa, Kimberly Hudson and fiancé Trevor Fedrizzi of Portersville Pa, Marc Hudson and his wife Julie Hudson of Ellwood City Pa, his nieces and nephew, Nikki St.Clair, Travis St.Clair, Nancy St.Clair and great nephews Roger, Hunter and Robert. Also survived by his six fur babies, Deku, Shepard, Neo, Bean, Revan and Daisy.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 7th, 2026 from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 5:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Rev. Dennis Arndt officiating. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday by 4:50 pm to conduct full military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that Legos be donated to the ‘Bricks & Bibles’ club he helped run or to a local Children’s hospital so that his joy of creating is passed on to another generation of builders.
