Chiseko Bell, 94, of New Castle passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family
Born January 10, 1932 in Kobe Japan, she was the eldest daughter of the late Kunshi and Kano Akiyama. She left Yokohama, Japan on an ocean liner and docked in Seattle, Washington where she boarded the train en route to Wampum, Pa. She was greeted by Mr. Harold Marshall of Wampum, Pa.
Chiseko worked at the Golden Hills Nursing Home as a CNA for over 20 years until her retirement in 1997. She was affiliated with the Chewton Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed games of chance as well as traveling.
Survivors include four daughters, Alexis Hammond (Raymond) of New Castle, Gloria A. Barker of New Castle, Mary Ann Bell of Canfield, OH, and Lisa (Charles) Chevalier of Casa Grande, AZ; three sons, John (Frances) Bell of Erie, Timothy (Selena) Bell of New Castle, Samuel (Robin) Bell of Roy, WA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Bell.
Friends and family will be received on Friday October 9, 2026 from 11:30 am until the memorial service at 1:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main St. Wampum. Elder Patricia Young, Pastor Kenneth Riddle and Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
