William S. “Taz” Reeher, Sr., age 73, of College Hill area of Beaver Falls, PA passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024 at the Heritage Valley Medical Center in Beaver.

He was born on February 16, 1951 in Beaver Falls, the son of the late William C. and Sylvia Plake Reeher.

He grew up in the little town of Koppel, PA where he played baseball for his home team. William attended the old St. Teresa Catholic School and Church where he was an Altar boy for many years. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Ellwood City – Class of 1969.

William is survived by his son William S. Reeher, Jr. of Big Beaver; two brothers Donald (Karen) of Big Beaver, John of Beaver Falls, and a sister Joyce (Mark) Medlin of Beaver Falls; cousins, many nieces and nephews and a special friend Judith Horner. Also, his fur baby “Kitty”.

William currently was working as a night watchman at McDanel Advanced Ceramic Technologies in Beaver Falls. He formerly worked at B.F. Carnegie Library and Veka Inc. in Fombell.
He loved nature and had a big heart always helping others.

Per his wishes no services will be held.

Mary Jane LeRoy, 93, of New Beaver Boro (formerly of North Sewickley Twp) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at her residence.

Born February 16, 1931 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Jane Bathgate Tritt . She was married to Merle R. “Bud” LeRoy on August 12, 1955. They were married for 56 years when he passed away on December 10, 2011.

Mary Jane graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949 and was a member of the First Church of God, Mercer Rd. Through the years, she was employed as a secretary for the Ford Garage in Ellwood City and Aetna Standard. She served on the North Sewickley Township Election Board for 30 years. A devoted mother and wife, she enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, and following the Blue Grass Circuit. Her most cherished time was spent with family especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Brad and Curt (Connie) LeRoy; two daughters, Lana (Bill) Boyer and Amy (Wade) Eidenmiller; seven grandchildren; Ryan (Kara), Jessica, and Casey Boyer, Rachel, Luke, and Amanda Le Roy, and Rachelle Eidenmiller; two great-grandchildren, Jace and Axton and her sister-in-law, JoAnn Foley Tritt.

A private family graveside service will be held at Locust Grove Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to First Church of God, Ellwood City.

Lenore Ann Ewing,79, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Quality Life Services in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Donald Leroy and Lucille (Hennon) Rentz and was born in Annandale, Pa on February 19, 1945.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years; Robert Howard “Bob” Ewing of Ellwood City, her children; Robert ”Bobby” Ewing and his wife Stephanie “Missy” of Ellwood City, Jodi Gurgiolo and her husband Daniel of Edinburg, her grandchildren; Brooke Shannon Ewing and her husband Christian Kegel of Ellwood City, Beau Robert Garroway Ewing, Marcus Daniel Gurgiolo, and Rachel Marie Gurgiolo and one great-grandson Crew Cartwright Kegel, and one brother David Rentz and his wife Jan of Pittsburgh.

She was a 1963 graduate of Moniteau High School. She married the love of her life Robert Ewing May 1, 1965. She was a cafeteria worker for over 30 years with the Ellwood City School District. She had a musical ear and played the organ and piano. She also loved music and dancing, and she was a great cook. She and Bob were long time members of Ellwood City Free Methodist. Lenore always lived life to the fullest. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Friends may call on the family at the Turner-Hyde Funeral & Cremation Services located at 6th and Park in Ellwood City on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 3:00PM-6:00PM with a Funeral Service beginning 6:00PM.

Mr. Eugene V. “Bud” Dimeo, 89, of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 at Harmony Hills Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wexford.

Mr. Dimeo was born in Ellwood City on May 30th, 1935 to the late Dr. Eugene L. and Gladys L. (Johnson) Dimeo. He is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1953 and had attended Geneva College. Bud enlisted with the United States Army in May of 1958 and served until his honorable discharge on August 8th, 1962 earning the rank of SP4. He served with the 475th Quartermaster Company at Fort Lee in Virginia.

For over 35 years Bud was a photographer for the Ellwood City Ledger. Many in the Ellwood City area remember “Ledger Photo by Bud Dimeo” as a caption that accompanied his many photos that literally chronicled the history of the town and special events of its residents. In doing so, Bud was especially fond of remembering his trips to local schools where he would be met so excitedly by the kids eager to show their latest projects and performances.

Bud is also a long time member of the Ellwood City Historical Society. He enjoyed classical music, archery, and photography.

His most recent years were spent loving and spoiling his grandchildren, who he was very proud of and who will miss him very much.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Gene and Jackie Dimeo, and Kevin and Anna Dimeo both of Ellwood City, and his grandchildren Christian, Cameron, Madeline, and Miranda Dimeo.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Joyce (Court) Dimeo whom he married on April 4th, 1964 and passed away on September 4th, 2009.

Following Bud’s wishes there will not be a public service. The final arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Inurnment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Robert “Bob” Kimpel, 87, of Meadowland Ave. Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at The Grove at Harmony following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born September 29, 1937 in Ellwood City on Meadowland Ave., he was the son of the late John and Rebecca Isenberg Kimpel.

A skilled watchmaker and jeweler, Bob owned and operated Kimpel Jewelers in Ellwood City for 47 years. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church Ellwood City, where he served as a leader of various activities through the years. He was a former president and served on the board of the Ellwood City Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 599 Ellwood City. Bob enjoyed tinkering on classic cars and running. His most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years Margaret “Peg” Olinger Kimpel; four daughters, Lisa (Gary) Fox of Ellwood City, Beckie (Tim) Zimmerman of Ft. Myers, FL, Mary (Doug) Glenn of New Castle, and Jean Kimpel of Richland Hills, TX; seven grandchildren; Alex (Hayley) Fox, Maggie (Casey) Klint, Ellen (David) Porter, Clint Glenn, Meredith (Karl) Egeland, Evelyn (Michael) Thompson, and Joe Tweddell; five great-grandchildren; Evan Tweddell, Jackson and Nora Porter, Joan Thompson, and Harvey Klint.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Ann Tweddell, great-grandson, Otto Robert Fox, and two brothers Jack and Bill Kimpel.

Friends will be received on Saturday November 23, 2024 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Jay Sterling of the First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.

Thelma G. Walker, 83, of Neshannock Twp (formerly of Wampum) passed away Monday, November 18, 2024 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born June 9, 1941 in Ohioville, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd C. and Erma Fulton Goddard. She married Robert R. Walker on May 6, 1960.

Through the years, Thelma worked at Trinity Oaks in Ellwood City, Carriage House in Shenango, and Rhodes Estates in New Castle. Thelma loved to bake and was well known for her delicious wedding cakes and cookies that she provided for many special occasions. She was a member of the 1st Alliance Church in New Castle and loved traveling to Cooks Forest and McConnells Mill.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Bob; daughter, Jean (Jon) Nickells of Garden Grove, CA; three sons, Bentley of New Castle, Timothy (Missy) of Normalville, PA, and Luke Walker of New Castle; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her sister, Nancy Eshelman of Texas.

She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held at the 1st Alliance Church, 111 Mission Meade Dr, New Castle PA 16105 on November 30, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor John McCready officiating.

Interment was private for the family in Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the 1st Alliance Church.

Mrs. Olive Lee “Huddy” White, 93, formerly of Perry Township passed away on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Mrs. White was born in New Brighton on September 9th, 1931 to the late Irvin L. and Marion Frances (Holbrook) Bonzo. She is a member of the New Brighton High School class of 1949, and was a member of the Wurtemburg Methodist Church. Over the years Huddy worked at Passavant Retirement Community, Airway Luggage, school bus drive for Zona’s Busing, and as a self-employed care giver for the elderly. She had member ships with the Ellwood City Saxons Club Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and Beaver Falls Elk’s Club.

She is survived by her sons, David White of Mentor, Ohio, Howard Neal (Erika) White of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kenneth (Debbie) White of Elba, Alabama, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don Leroy White whom she married on October 19th, 1951 and passed away on June 16th, 1998, son Jimmy White, sister, Frances Caldwell, and brother, James Bonzo.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 24th, 2024 from 1:00 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Rev Dr. Robert J. Guy, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be at Arlington Cemetery.

Connor M. Lutz, 16, of North Sewickley Township tragically passed away in a car accident on Friday, November 15, 2024.

Born May 15, 2008 in Ellwood City, he was the son of Chad Lutz and Jodi Schilling Coe.

Connor was in 11th grade at Riverside High School where he was enrolled in the Vo-Tech HVAC Program. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, being outdoors, playing X-Box and hanging out with his friends. Connor was a kind and caring soul who was funny, happy and always had a good time no matter what he was doing. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and love of anything that had a motor.

Survivors include his father Chad Lutz of North Sewickley Twp; mother and stepfather Jodi and Tim Coe of North Sewickely Twp; maternal grandparents, Merle Schilling of New Sewickley Twp. and Linda (Don) Ridgley of Zelienople; sister, Hailey Miller; brothers, Jacob Valvano, Gavin and Liam Lutz, and Onyx Coe; step-brothers, Sam and Sonny Coe; three uncles, Keith Lutz, Darren (Nicole) Schilling, and Blake (Kati) Schilling, and three aunts, Carrie (Jed) Yanke, Ashley Reich, and Cassidy Reich. He leaves behind numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Tammy Reich and aunt Amy Reich.

Friends will be received on Wednesday November 20, 2024 from 2 until the funeral service at 7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor Tom O’Brien will officiate.

Cindy Lu Smith, 66, of 2019 3rd Ave., New Brighton passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born October 21, 1958 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian Gibson Chambers. She married Robert E. Smith Sr. in 1981 and they were happily married for over 30 years when he passed away on January 20, 2004.

Survivors include two daughters, Kandy (Landis Morris) Smith and Bobbie Jo (Paul) Wildes both of Beaver Falls; three sons, Robert E. (Mandy) Smith Jr. of Wampum, Keith L. (Nicole) Smith of East Palestine and Juston R. (Fiancée Amanda Defore) Smith of Beaver Falls; 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two sisters, Pat (Bob) Roser of New Brighton and Diane (George) Bash of New Galilee.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by eight siblings.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday November 23, 2024 from 1 until the funeral service at 4 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum. Pastor Bobby Wilson will officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
