Gerald L. Partington, 87

Gerald L. Partington, 87, of Ellwood City, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 30, 2026.

He was born August 23, 1939, in Ellwood City (Frisco), PA, the son of Wallace and Evelyn Allison Partington.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Stanton Partington, two sons, Gerald Jr. (Christine) of Bowling Green, KY, and Jeffrey (Donna) of Ellwood City, PA, four daughters, Christine (Sheldon) LeViere of Ellwood City, PA, Statia (Dean) Olson, of Ellwood City, PA, Rachel (Michael) Sanchez of Lake Wales, FL, and Elizabeth (Ben) Mills of Suwanee, GA, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Margaret (Charles) Brown of Ellwood City, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchild, Emma Olson.

Gerald was a 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School and a 1963 graduate of Geneva College, with additional studies at Monroe County Community College, Detroit Bible College, and Warner University. He was employed for 43 years as a Chemist by Calgon Corporation (Nalco) in Ellwood City, Calgon Center in Pittsburgh and Rockwood, MI. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the Society of Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh, the National Campers & Hikers Association and the Gotta-Get-Away Campers of Ellwood City, PA.

Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family, and this resulted in many camping trips in the early years and then Florida adventures in the later years. But the desire of his heart was to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, so this resulted in leadership roles in new and existing churches in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Florida. He used sports as an outreach and coached church softball teams in all three states. He was the founder and director of the Ellwood City Church Volleyball League for several years. He served on the Board of the Portersville Christian School, was the founder/president of the PCS Boosters, and was the first coach of the PCS Ladies basketball team. He was involved with missions and had missionary friends in Pakistan, Haiti, and the Philippines. He and Carol supported Compassion Children and Carol was able to visit with one of them on a mission trip to Haiti. In his retirement years in Florida, Gerald was often involved with productions at Warner University and was honored to portray “Uncle Sam” in the annual “Liberty” presentations.

Friends and family will be received on Monday November 2, 2026 from 6 – 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Friends and family will also be received on Tuesday November 3, from 10 until the Funeral Service at 11 am at the First Church of God Ellwood City. Rev. Phil Conklin and Gerald’s sons-in-law Rev.
