The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include WEDNESDAY, MAY 1 10:00 a.m. – “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. Dunkin’ Donuts ‘Go’ Trailer Coming To Ellwood City

On Monday, April 29th, Lawrence Avenue will be hosting an unofficial “Dunkin’ Donuts Day,” featuring the country’s FIRST Dunkin’ Go Trailer, courtesy of Thought Process Enterprises and their commercial sign outfitter, Signs by Sam. The food & beverage trailer, a first of its kind for Dunkin’ Donuts, will be permitted and stationed on Lawrence Avenue in front of the Ellwood City Community Plaza for a one-day event. Mercer County 4-H Benefit Auction

Mercer County 4-H will hold its annual benefit auction on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Mercer County 4-H Park, located on Route 19, 1.5 miles north of Mercer. Festivities begin with the kitchen opening at 5:30 p.m. and the auction beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Show Arena. This event helps raise money to support the Mercer County 4-H Program. Proceeds help fund educational materials, programs, trips, and seminars, and to maintain, upgrade and improve our 4-H Park. Donation Collection Begins For Fireworks Fundraiser

Eric Rayner has officially began his Fireworks Fundraiser. He will be updating the public on the progress of his efforts as well as the amount of money collected on a regular basis on his “Save the Ellwood City Fireworks 2019” Facebook page. “I will update the Facebook page every night with updates on how much was raised,” Rayner said. National Day Of Prayer Planned At Community Plaza

There will be a National Day of Prayer event held at the Ellwood City Community Plaza on Lawrence Avenue. The event will start at 11:45 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Badlands (the old 5th Street Diner) 225 Fifth St. There will be a complimentary Luncheon to follow at the Bandlands. Local Man’s Quest to Save Fireworks Ignites

Eric Rayner’s plan to rally the community to save the festival fireworks has been officially backed by the Ellwood City Arts Crafts and Foods Festival Committee. Rayner, 26, of Ellport, met with the committee on Wednesday evening to present his plan of action in the hopes of getting the committee’s “approval.” Although the committee offered Eric their support they are not hosting or leading the fundraiser. They have however agreed to host the fireworks, pay for the insurance, traffic control and grounds keeping for the fireworks event if the community raises the money needed to implement the display. Pine Valley Ride For Hope

The Pine Valley Ride for Hope will be hosting its 6th annual event this year on Saturday, June 22, rain or shine. If there happens to be rain, there will be an alternative route, that is shorter, taken. This year, it will be hosted by the New Castle Harley Davidson dealership located on 4655 US 422. Primary Election Voting Information

There are two locations available to be used for voting in the Primary Elections for Franklin Township. Voting will be on Tuesday, May 21 from 7:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. The two locations that will be open is the Franklin Township Building at 897 State Route 288 and the Volunteer Fire Department located at 808 Old Zelienople Road The last day to register for voting is on Monday, April 22 with the last day to request an absentee ballot following on Tuesday, May 14. The Borough of Ellwood City is conducting a public open house meeting to review and discuss design development plans and a preliminary engineering report prepared for the Ellwood City Downtown Central Business District Revitalization and Economic Development Project.
