Riverside Elementary Welcomes North Sewickley Firefighters for Fire Prevention Education

On October 8 and 9, the North Sewickley firefighters visited Riverside Elementary to teach our PK-3rd grade students about fire prevention and safety. Through age-appropriate lessons and engaging discussions, students learned important ways to stay safe and what to do in the event of a fire emergency.

Students had the opportunity to learn about the importance of smoke detectors, practicing fire escape plans at home, and knowing how to respond if they discover a fire. The firefighters also helped students understand the importance of staying calm during an emergency, getting out of a burning building quickly, and never going back inside once they are safely outside. These lessons reinforced the importance of fire safety at both school and home.

Visits like these provide valuable learning experiences for our youngest Panthers while helping them develop safety awareness and confidence in emergency situations. We are grateful to the North Sewickley firefighters for taking the time to visit our school, share their knowledge, and help keep our students and community safe.
