A Universe Of Stories Comes To Franklin Township

This summer, the Chippewa Branch of the Beaver County Library System will be bringing a universe of stories during summer story times. Parents, bring your preschool age children to the Franklin Township Community Park on Walnut Street for stories, songs, and crafts. Storytimes will be held on Thursday in June, July, and August. The Thursdays in June fall on the 6th, 13th, and 20th, in July on the 11th and 18th, and it will conclude in August on the 1st, the 8th, and the 15th. Hospital to Host Dunkin’ Truck for National Emergency Medical Services Recognition Week

Benefit Run Pig Roast

The Yellow Ribbon Girls and the American Legion Riders will be hosting a Benefit Run Pig Roast on Saturday, June 1. Donations from the benefit will help support not only the Yellow Ribbon Girls and the American Legion Riders, but the Navy Vietnam Veteran Rick Cantolina as well as many other veterans in need. Ellwood City’s Memorial Day Parade

Ellwood City’s Memorial Day parade will be held May 27th. The parade will start at 10 a.m. on the Veterans Bridge on Fifth Street. It will travel to Crescent Avenue, over to Eighth Street, down to Lawrence Avenue, back to Fifth and then take Spring Avenue into Legion Park, where a 45-minute memorial event will be held. Several veterans and local leaders will speak, the borough’s civic chorale will perform, and a flag-raising ceremony held. Fireworks Fundraiser Surpasses Goal: $9,000 Donated So Far

Ellwood City will not only have its fireworks display this year at the festival, it will be a display with some extra bang. Eric Rayner the 26-year-old Ellport man who has been the face of the Save The Ellwood City Fireworks fundraiser announced on May 9 that the $5,000 goal was met and an additional $4,00o was raised bringing the current total to $9,000.
