Lawrence County Economic Development Hosting ENGAGE Meeting For Local Businesses

Lawrence County Economic Development, along with the Lawrence County Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Borough of Ellwood City is hosting an ENGAGE! meeting for local Ellwood City Businesses.

ENGAGE! is a business retention program funded by the Commonwealth that strives to proactively meet with business owners and managers regarding the opportunities and challenges they face. ENGAGE! features a robust team of experienced professionals who proactively listen to businesses and offer targeted technical assistance and solutions.

“Some of the most effective business collaborations happen at th elocal level. ENGAGE! is a vital resource that makes Pennsylvania a top choice for businesses who want to succeed,” says Dennis Davin, Secretary of PA Community & Economic Development.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 24th at 11:00 a.m. and will be hosted above the Ellwood City Fire Department Building, 2nd Floor, located at 411 6th Street, in Ellwood City.  The entrance is on the side of the building.

A box lunch will be provided to those in attendance.

The goal of the meeting is to build a solid relationship with businesses to assess the needs and provide appropriate and targeted follow-up assistance, according to an informational letter mailed to area businesses.

“We recognized the importance of our local businesses with a mission to assist them in staying and growing in Lawrence County,” said Linda Nitch, Director of Economic Development.

The meeting will offer the opportunity to:

  1. Introduce our local team of ENGAGE! trained personnel.
  2. Review the ENGAGE! interview process and customized action plan.
  3. Discuss multiple public programs to assist your growth, including workforce training grants, low cost public financing, and business planning programs.
  4. Conduct and/or schedule ENGAGE! meetings with attendees.
  5. Network with your peers in the local business community.

Depending on the number of in-person attendees, there may be the opportunity to conduce on-site ENGAGE! interviews on the February 24th date.

All social distancing protocols will be in place, including wearing masks. If you are unable to attend, you can also schedule ENGAGE! meetins via Zoom at a convenient time.

Those interested in attending are asked to R.S.V.P. no later than Friday, February 19th regarding the availability of a representative by responding by e-mail to Linda Nitch at nitch@lawrencecounty.com or by phone at 724-658-1488.
