2020 Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection Date Announced

Safely dispose of common household chemicals and take advantage of the Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection event that is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2020. The collection will take place at the Bradys Run Park Recycling Center from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. A new fee structure will be in place – $20.00 and covers disposal of up to 10 gallons/50 pounds of the accepted materials. Oversize loads will be subject to additional charges. Ellwood City Public Library To Open By Appointment

The Ellwood City Area Public Library will be open by appointment only starting Tuesday September 29, 2020. Call the library to set up an appointment to browse for books or use a computer. Anything printed must be paid for with exact change or check. We will not be making copies at this time. Newspapers and magazines will not be available. “Angeline Riccardo Day” Declared In Ellwood City

Mayor Anthony J. Court has declared Tuesday, September 15, 2020 as “Angeline Riccardo Day” in Ellwood City. Mayor Court presented a proclamation in observance of Mrs. Riccardo’s 100th birthday. Mrs. Riccardo was married for 57 years to Armond Riccardo, has 3 children, James, Ron and Allan and was blessed with 8 grandchildren. “Mrs. Riccardo is an outstanding citizen that won the respect of her family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances,” said Mayor Court in a statement. Victory Over Japan Day, also known as VJ Day, and its 75-year anniversary was celebrated this week. Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court & WW II Veterans from Ellwood City and American Legion Post #157, along with Lawrence County and Beaver County Honor Guards celebrated VJ Day at the American Legion Park. American Legion Post 157 will be having a ceremony commemorating VJ Day (Victory over Japan). The event will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Legion Park in Ellwood City.
