The Butterfly Foundation Opens Pop-up Clothing Cupboard

A local non-profit organization, The Butterfly Foundation, will be holding a complimentary kid’s clothing cupboard on Saturday, August 10. The cupboard will have boys and girls gently used clothing ranging from 4T to size 16 in older kids. They will also have shoes and backpacks available. Parents and their kids can “shop” from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ellwood City Moose Lodge. Franklin Township Mosquito Control Event

On July 24, the PA DEP (BU 6464) will be conducting a truck-mounted, Ultra Low Volume (ULV) mosquito control event. This event will begin at around 7:30 pm in Franklin Twp followed by treatments in North Sewickley Twp & New Galilee Boro. Ellwood City Library To Host A Creative Writing Group

Starting August 14th, the Ellwood City Library will kick off this year’s Creative Writing Group. This group has been taught by Nancy Wallace for the past 12 years and meets every two weeks. Hungarian Home Scholarship Winners

(Ellwood City) Katherine Bowser and Kristina Hogue, seniors at Lincoln and Riverside high schools, respectively, have been selected to receive $500 scholarships from the Ellwood City Hungarian Home. Bowser, a daughter of Kevin and Jennifer Bowser of Ellwood City, plans to attend the Pennsylvania State University this fall and major in environmental engineering. Hogue, a daughter of Jim and Mary Hogue of New Brighton, also plans to attend the Pennsylvania State University and major in journalism/communications. Holy Redeemer would like to announce that they will be holding three events soon. The first is their annual Pilgrimage to the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady Lourdes in Euclid, Ohio on Thursday, September 12. Master Gardeners Host 4th Annual Garden Tour

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County are hosting their Fourth Annual Garden Tour on Sunday, July 21st from Noon to 5:00 p.m. The tour highlights five area gardens, which can be toured at your own pace.
