Ellwood City Area School District to Stage ‘Shrek the Musical’

The Ellwood City Area School District will proudly stage its annual musical next month.

The school is presenting “Shrek The Musical” with a cast of over 75 high-school students and children bringing the fairy tale characters to life.

Shrek the Musical is a Tony-award winning Broadway musical based on the Oscar-winning fairytale adventure of the same name. Shrek (played by Jack Brown) is the story of an unlikely hero who begrudgingly sets on a journey to rescue the feisty princess Fiona (played by Hayley Wright) who has a secret. He travels alongside his wisecracking friend, Donkey (played by Dorian Anderson) who insists to tag-along. Complete with fairytale misfits like Pinocchio and Gingy, (played by Lindsay Meskel Aniyah Hensell), a fire-breathing Dragon (Trisha Kerr), and the villainous Lord Farquaad that everyone loves to hate (played by Zach Stiles), Shrek provides fun for the whole family and proves that true beauty is in the eye of the ogre!

Performances of Shrek the Musical will be held on Friday, November 8th at 7:30 pm, Saturday, November 9th at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, November 10th at 2:00 pm.
