Victory Family Church from Cranberry Township, PA came to Ellwood City, PA to serve the community on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Mayor Anthony Court and Reverend Rick Pelloni through months of planning provided meals and services to the Ellwood City Community. The group titled “Fishers of Men”, their main goal is serving people with acts of kindness. Serve Day participates with over 1,000 churches across the country in acts of kindness, usually in mid-July. These acts of kindness were put together by Mayor Court and Reverend Pelloni for the main purpose of sharing spiritual needs throughout the Ellwood City community….

Holy Redeemer “Pizza Greens” Sale

The Holy Redeemer Social Club will be holding a “Pizza Greens” sale Saturday, July 11. These Pizza Greens are actually spinach rolls and will be sold from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Holy Redeemer lunch room for $4 each.


BC3 Announces Drive-Thru Commencement for Class of 2020

(Butler, PA) Graduates in Butler County Community College’s Class of 2020 can celebrate their achievement during a 1.2-mile-long drive-thru commencement that begins at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 on BC3’s main campus in Butler Township.Graduates who attended BC3’s main campus or its additional locations in Armstrong, Butler, Jefferson, Lawrence or Mercer counties and who have registered for commencement should bring their mortarboard, gown, tassel and degree cover to the ceremony, which is expected to last daylong. Graduates who have registered for the drive-thru commencement will be informed of their designated arrival time by email. Only one vehicle is requested per graduate….

Unity Rally to be Held In Ellwood City’s Community Plaza

A Unity Rally will be held on Sunday June 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Community Plaza in Ellwood City. The event will feature a line-up of speakers. Organizers said the event is non-partisan and all are welcome and encouraged to attend and raise awareness of and show support for the Black Lives Matter and current Civil Rights Movement sweeping across our nation. Lincoln High School Class of ’68 Announcement

Lincoln High Schools graduating class of ’68 had originally made plans to hold an event to celebrate the classes 70th birthday. This birthday party had been scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2020 has been cancelled for this year and rescheduled for 2021. Many of the classmates had expressed their concerns about hosting an event of such large attendee numbers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

PHOTO: 3rd Mayor Beautification Award Presented

Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court awarded the 3rd of 6 Beautification Awards to Arduino and Carol Nocera of Petain Street. They were presented with a yard sign and a dinner gift certificate as a prize. “The Nocera’s put a lot of  time and effort in their property and it shows in their beautiful landscape.,” said Mayor Court. “Congratulations to the Nocera’s!” There will be tree more awards issued this season which Mayor Court will announce soon.
