Ellwood City Wrestling Team Has Early Success

This past weekend, the Ellwood City varsity boys wrestling team began their 2018-2019 season at the 22-team Hickory Invitational. The wrestling team is lead by seniors Jake Alberts and Donavin Chambers, along with their teammates Austin Walley, Donavin Chambers and Zach Polojoic. At the weekend invitational, Walley took first place in his 182-pound class, collecting a 15-3 decision over Elijah Ayers (Coudersport) while Chambers placed second in his 138-pound final, falling 7-2 in the finals. Jake Alberts collected a fourth place finish while Doug Balin went 3-2 this weekend. As a team, Ellwood City finished with 76.5 points in the tournament.  Redbank…

The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce our new Co-Executive Directors, Loralei Gallaher-Hink and Jillian Court. Coffee Shop Lessons: Project Educate Comes To Ellwood

Project Educate is returning to Ellwood City. The workshops started in November and returned for its December workshop earlier this week. The plan is for it to keep coming back every second Monday of the month through the summer of 2019. These workshops are held at 6:00 p.m. at National Grind. Ellwood City Council Agenda Meeting, New Electric Rate For Vote

Ellwood City Council held their regular monthly agenda meeting on December 10. All council members were present at the meeting. The agenda meeting was brief and allowed for attendees to get a rundown on what will be voted on in next weeks council meeting. Boariu, Wolverines Emerge Victorious Against Rochester

A near triple-double performance by Wolverine senior Broc Boariu propelled Ellwood City to a 64-41 victory over Rochester on Tuesday at Lincoln High School. Boariu finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Wolverines to the coast-to-coast victory.  Ellwood City never trailed in the contest. Wolverine Boys Fall To Hopewell, EC & RHS Girls Victorious

Wolverine Boys Lose To Hopewell Ellwood City fell to Hopewell on Monday, 72-67, even with freshman Steve Antuono scoring 20 points. Jake McGovern scored a game-high 21 points, on seven 3-pointers, to help Hopewell secure the victory. Ellwood City and Hopewell were tied up at 36-36 at the half, but Hopewell gained the momentum during the third quarter, stretching out to a seven-point lead. POLICE: Rash of Vehicle Break-Ins, Telephone Scams Reported

RASH OF VEHICLE BREAK-INS Ellwood City Police Department are requesting residents LOCK their vehicles when parked outside their residences. On Sunday night, December 9, 2018 into Monday morning, December 10, 2018 ECPD took reports of 10 UNLOCKED vehicles broken into in the Meadowridge Drive, Skyline Drive, Aetna Drive, and York Street areas. All of the thefts were from unlocked vehicle. ECPD states that the thefts occurred sometime after 9:00pm and prior to 5:00am.
