Kids Read Now Comes To North Side Primary

On Thursday, May 16 from 6-7pm, North Side Primary is hosting Kids Read Now Family Reading Night. Kids Read Now is a nationwide organization that pairs with school districts to keep reading a priority, even throughout the summer months. The goal is to close the achievement gap and eliminate the summer reading slide that occurs during the summer break. 2019 Mayor’s Beautification Award

Mayor Anthony Court announced today, with the beginning of summer upon us, the Ellwood City residents will once again turn their properties into beautiful landscapes, bringing our neighborhoods back to life. This will be the 9th year that Mayor Court will present “Beautification Awards” and restaurant certificates to six (6) area residents who take pride in their properties, throughout Ellwood City. 75th Anniversary Of Choral Music Concert Planned At Lincoln High School

The Lincoln High School Choral Department will be presenting our spring concert next Friday night, May 10th. “We are very proud to be celebrating this amazing milestone with two special concerts on May 10th and May 11th,” said Senior High Choral Director Felecia Greco. “This is an event not to be missed!” The concert will begin at 7:00 pm and feature seven different choirs with students in grades 5-12. Franklin Township Clean-Up Day Announced

Franklin Township residents are invited to participate and clean up a yard, home, or garage with a township clean-up day planned for Saturday, May 4, 2019. The event will begin at 8:00am and last until 2:00pm for township residents.  Residents can drop off trash at the Franklin Township Building located on Route 288 in Fombell. Calvin Presbyterian Church Set To Host Rummage And Bake Sale

On Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4, Calvin Presbyterian Church will be hosting a rummage and bake sale. The sale will go on from 9:00 a.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday (Bag Day). Donations for the rummage sale will be accepted during office hours. Festival Fireworks Fundraiser: Custom Logo Apparel Available, In Person Donation Day Set

Donations have started rolling into the Save the Ellwood City Fireworks fundraiser. Eric Rayner, the 26-year-old Ellport man who is leading the fundraising effort, said that as of April 30, donations total nearly $3,000 of the $5,000 needed to save the fireworks.
