ROUND-UP: Clean Sweep For Ellwood City Sports On Thursday

Ellwood City posted a clean sweep Thursday afternoon with girls tennis, co-ed golf, and volleyball all collecting victories. The Ellwood City Girls Tennis Team defeated Beaver Falls 5-0 to even their record to 1-1 on the season.  Maddy McCommons (6-1, 6-0) and Rylea Heitzenrater (6-0, 6-0) collected singles victories. Olivia Andrew and Savannah Holsinger (6-0, 6-0) posted a victory in doubles. Two forfeits aided the Wolverines victory. Ellwood City Tennis Set To Host Mini-Clinic

Ellwood City Tennis will be conducting a tennis clinic for any boy or girl interested in learning the basics of tennis. The tennis clinic will be held on June 28th, 29th, and 30th, 2021 at the Ewing Park Courts from 10:00 a.m to 11:15 a.m. Any child ages 5-12 is eligible to sign up and participate. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. The Riverside Boys Tennis team collected a 4-1 victory in tennis action Monday afternoon at Riverside High School. Ethan Hughes (6-3, 6-0) collected straight set victory in singles while Payne Hoover & Kaysen Conver (6-2, 6-3) and Avery Wolf & Liam Gallagher (6-3, 6-4) collected straight set victories to pace Riverside. Ellwood City earned a 4-1 team victory during Mondays boy’s tennis match between Ellwood City and Beaver Falls. Leading the Wolverine singles was Alex Scott who won two clean 6-0 sets against his Beaver Falls opponent.
