Alex Scott led the Wolverines tennis team with straight-set victory (6-4, 6-1) in his singles match versus Beaver Area on Tuesday at Ewing Park.
The boys team, however, fell to the Bobcats 4-1 in team play.
Doubles team of Andrew Busby and Daniel Rodgers fell (2-6, 0-6) to Bobcats team of Gil Hankison and Sammy Kissick while Wolverines doubles Dante Gidaro and Brandon Barr fell (0-6, 0-6) Tanner Tomak (0-6, 1-6) and Aden Busby (0-6, 0-6) were defeated in singles.
On Thursday, the boys tennis team was defeated by Quaker Valley 5-0 in team play.
Scott was the only Wolverine able to collect set points, falling in his singles match (2-6, 2-6) to Quaker Valley’s Mike Sirianni. Will Sirianni defeated Ellwood City’s Max Kuffer (6-0, 6-0) in the other singles match.
Both boys tennis doubles teams were swept in defeat.
The Ellwood City boys tennis team will next host Beaver Falls Tigers on Monday beginning at 3:30pm at the Ewing Park courts.
