According to a press release made available by the Borough of Ellwood City, a utility account budget plan has been announced. The Ellwood City Borough Council adopted Resolution #2004-4 approving a budget payment plan for utility accounts under the following provisions: Customers may complete the application form provided by the Borough during the annual open enrollment period from the third Monday in March through the third Friday in April. The first budget-billing amount will appear on the May utility bill. The maximum budget periods will be twelve (12) months with all balances due to be settled in the 12th month….


Borough of Ellwood City Looking For Zoning Board Applicants

The Ellwood City Borough Council is advertising the vacancies on the Zoning Hearing Board and looking for applicants. The Borough is seeking one (1) applicant for the Zoning Hearing Board and two (2) applicants for Zoning Hearing Board Alternate. Any Borough resident interested in serving on any of the above positions is asked to submit a letter of interest to the Borough Secretary, 525 Lawrence Avenue, Ellwood City, PA 16117. Toys For Tots Fundraiser A Success Among Borough Departments

With the pandemic taking away so much from children this year, the Borough of Ellwood City wanted to help make sure Christmas was not on the list. The borough held a Toys for Tots challenge among their departments over the holidays and generosity kicked into high gear. Ellwood City Tax Office Announces Hour Changes

The Borough of Ellwood City Tax Office this week announced changes to its hours. According to Tax Collector Sue Gatto, the office is now open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with hours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on those respective days. Christmas Tree Disposal Information

With the Christmas season winding down, the once lively trees that brought joy and light up our homes are dying and needles are rapidly covering homes. According to a release made available Monday, Ellwood City Borough residents may drop off their live Christmas trees (decorations removed) for disposal at Stiefel Park, just inside the park entrance from Brighton Road, now through January 31.  There will be a sign to mark the disposal drop location.  Drop off will be available during normal hours the park is open to the public. The Borough of Ellwood City has recently updated its account with OnSolve, providers of the CodeRED high-speed notification solution and the CodeRED Weather Warning service. This no-charge update will allow message recipients to easily identify calls coming through the systems. Message recipient’s Caller ID will read OnSolve or 866-419-5000 for CodeRED calls. Borough Updates: Targeting & Shutoffs

According to information made available by the Borough of Ellwood City, they will be resuming speeding enforcement and electric shutoffs. Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court advised the borough police will be stepping patrols along Line and Wampum Avenues and Pershing and Beatty Streets where there have been complaints about speeders.  Court said speeding is a major concern now because children are out for the summer.
