The Borough of Ellwood City will be holding its 2024 Summer Playground Program again at Ewing Park this summer. The winners of the Community Garden Coloring Contest gathered together on Thursday, May 2nd outside of the Municipal Building to claim their prizes and view their artwork. The winners were chosen from a wide variety of entries, each with its own unique style. Borough Code Enforcement Reminder To Residents To Keep Grass Trimmed

Spring is here and Summer is just around the corner. Grass is growing and many homeowners are attending to their property. April started yard waste pick-ups for borough residents. The Ellwood City Borough Code Enforcement Officer Ralph Chiappetta would like to remind borough residents that the grass ordinance will begin to be enforced starting May 1st The legal height for grass/weeds is not to exceed SIX (6) inches. “Pinwheels For Prevention” Program Launched

Mayor Anthony J. Court in conjunction with Children’s Advocacy Center of Lawrence County, members of UPMC Jamison, launched “Pinwheels for Prevention” this week. “This is a program for child abuse prevention and the pinwheels represents playfulness, joy and childhood and has come to serve as a physical reminder of a great childhood,” said Mayor Court in an e-mailed statement. April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. Mayor Anthony J. Court along with Johnna Johnston, Grace Schmarewski, and Olivia Gaffron, representatives from ARISE, placed sign around downtown Ellwood City to kick off the Awareness Month. This month is the 23rd anniversary of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Borough Of Ellwood City Announces Utility Account Budget Payment Plan

In a press release made available by the borough on Friday, March 1st, the Ellwood City Borough Council has adopted a Utility Account Budget Plan. The Borough Council adopted Resolution #2004-4 approving a budget payment plan for utility accounts under the following provisions: Customers may complete the application form provided by the Borough during the annual open enrollment period from the third Monday in March through the third Friday in April. Borough of Ellwood City Launching Food Drive

The Borough of Ellwood City is proud to announce the launch of a Borough wide Food Drive to support the Holy Redeemer food bank for the holidays. Boxes for businesses interested in participating may be obtained by emailing rschnell@ellwoodcityborough.com. Boxes for donations will also be located near the Utility Billing Window at the Borough of Ellwood City. Sewer Upgrade Project on Wampum Avenue Underway

The Borough of Ellwood City has announced the start of the Wampum Avenue Pump Station Project in its effort to improve the infrastructure in the area. A letter was mailed to residents in the affected areas. Construction will take place on Wampum Avenue between Madison Street Ext and Fifth Street Bridge. This project is a sewer upgrade for multiple existing sewer transport lines in the wooded area East of Wampum Ave. A pump station will also be built to collect from these lines to be transported to the Ellwood City Borough Wastewater Treatment Plant for treatment.
