Borough Of Ellwood City Announces Board Vacancies

The Borough of Ellwood City has announced the following on the Boards and Commissions of the Ellwood City Borough. The vacancies are as follows: Zoning Hearing Board Alternate, Planning Commission, and Civil Service Commission Alternate. Any Borough resident interested in serving on any of the above positions is asked to submit a letter of interest to the Borough Secretary at 525 Lawrence Avenue, Ellwood City. All letters must be due/postmarked on or before 4 p.m. on December 30th, 2021

The Ellwood City Borough Tax Collector Susan Gatto has issued a friendly reminder to borough residents. Please remember to pay the Ellwood City Borough, Ellwood City Area School District, and Per Capita taxes before December 31, 2021. New Ellwood City Police Officer Introduced

The Borough of Ellwood City Police Department has introduced a new police officer this week. Robert Bird II was sworn in as part of the ceremony led by Mayor Anthony Court. Mayor Court swore Officer Bird in as the newest member of the Ellwood City Police Department. Also attending was Borough of Ellwood City Council President George Celli, pictured on left, and Officer Bird’s proud mother, Jodi Barton on the right.

Political Sign Registration Required In Ellwood City

The Borough of Ellwood City has announced this month that any political candidates who want to post campaign signs on borough property must first register at the municipal building and pay a deposit. If you have waste to get rid of, here’s your chance. The Borough of Ellwood City has announced information on its upcoming annual clean-up day scheduled for next month. The clean up date is Saturday, October 16th from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Drop off location is the parking lot at 1200 Factory Avenue in Ellwood City, just west of Adams Manufacturing Building #4 and prior to the Moose Lodge The cost is $10.00 per passenger vehicle for drop offs. New Borough Trash Contract Anticipated To Begin July 1

In a statement made available by the Borough of Ellwood City on Wednesday, officials now anticipate the new trash contract to begin July 1, 2021. A press release reads as follows: The new Ellwood City Trash Contract is anticipated to begin July 1, 2021. The trash cart manufacturer has given Valley Waste an estimated delivery time of mid-June. When the carts arrive, Valley Waste and Ellwood City Public Works will work together to deliver the carts to customer addresses. The new contract will start on the first of the following month. Next Ellwood City Yard Waste Pick-Up Is Week Of June 21

According to information made available the borough offices, the next scheduled yard waste pick-up for borough residents will be the week of June 21, 2021. The borough’s new contract with Valley Waste starts this summer. A full schedule will be provided in the near future. At an April Borough Council meeting, Borough Manager David Allen commented that the new contract expands yard waste pickup significantly. The Borough of Ellwood City recently awarded its trash contract to Valley Waste and is now asking its residents to their choose desired options via several form options made available this week. Borough Code Enforcement Reminds Residents of High Grass And Weeds

Its Spring time and the Borough Code Office has been bombarded with complaints of high grass and weeds according to Code Enforcement Officer Ralph Chiappetta. “Some people waited until the last minute to have their mowers serviced and they are now behind,” says Chiapetta. “Also, it seems like people are cleaning out their property, which is a good thing.” But this also poses a problem with trash according to Chiappetta.
