Ms. Christine Gibson, Principal of North Side Primary School, announces that Kindergarten Registration for the 2018-19 school year in the Ellwood City Area School District will be conducted on March 20, 21, 22, 2018 at the North Side Primary School. As part of the registration process, forms soliciting names of eligible kindergarten children have been sent home with elementary students. To be eligible for Kindergarten in 2018, children must be five years old prior to August 15, 2018. Mr. George R. Parker, 83, of Perry Twp. passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Heritage Valley Medical Center. Mr. Parker was born on June 6, 1934 in New Castle to the late George H. and Lillian Ketterer Parker. Syrian Visits Riverside, Discusses Middle Eastern Life With Students

On Thursday, January 18, Mr. Osama Alomar visited Riverside High School to speak to Mrs. Boots’ World Cultures classes, Mrs. Frank’s English classes, and Mrs. Pinchot’s AP Journalism classes. His visit is thanks to a generous grant from the Riverside Community Education Foundation. Mrs. Boots’ World Cultures classes are completing a unit on the Middle East, so had plenty of questions for Mr. Alomar about his life in Syria, his opinion of President Assad, and his assessment of the violence in Syria. Codie Renee Lovitt, nee Gasser, 35, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 following neurological complications ultimately causing heart failure.
