Henrietta A. “Sis” Ritter, our angel, 70, of Friendship Ridge, Beaver, formerly of Ellwood City, left us to enter the loving arms of her mother on Monday afternoon, Jan. 11, 2016 at Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center. She was born in Ellwood City on July 23, 1945 to the late Carl C. and Betty Wimer Ritter. Police: Three People Charged with Simple Assault Against Woman

One woman and two men were charged with simple assault against a woman and a juvenile male was charged with theft. Darcy Young, 29, from Rochester but currently residing in Ellwood City; Adam Pounds, of Ellwood City; Andrew Mercado, 28, from Ellwood City but currently residing in Koppel; and a male juvenile all received various charges for an incident occurring on Dec. 27. Michael Taylor, 64, of North Sewickley Twp., passed away on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, in his residence. Michael was born on Dec. 5, 1950, to the late Victor “Lutz” and Grace E. The musical, “Into the Woods,” a Brother’s Grimm fairy tale medley, has no defined leads but instead features an extensive ensemble cast. Accordingly, the Q&A is presented in collective responses rather than individual sessions. Lori Hilliard, the Ellwood City Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, submitted her letter of resignation to the Chamber’s board on November 5. Hilliard cited spending more time with her parents and grandparents and having a job that will have a more flexible work schedule as reasons for her resignation. Floyd L. Mayberry, 74

Floyd L. Mayberry, 74, of Portersville Rd., Ellport passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 at UPMC Passavant Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 6, 1940 in Ellwood City,he was the son of the late Floyd E. and Betty Russell Mayberry. He was married for 56 years to Judith A. Grady Mayberry as they were married Sept. 23, 1959. She survives. Floyd was a lifelong mechanic. In a 4 to 2 vote, the Ellwood City Borough Council approved Freedom Health Care Services, a drug and alcohol addiction clinic, to be located on 773 Pershing St. About a dozen visitors arrived to protest the clinic, focusing their opposition on the location, which is near a residential area and a bus stop. Ellwood City Borough Council will vote today on a proposal by Freedom Health Care Services to open a drug addiction clinic on 773 Pershing St. in Walnut Ridge. Contrary to information in a video report, Freedom Health Care Services is not a methadone clinic. The facility will not have any methadone. It is a counseling treatment facility for those with addictions. Freedom Health Care Services is a drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility located in Bridgeville. Council to Vote on Proposed Addiction Treatment Clinic

At its regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 21, Borough Council will vote on a proposal to establish a medical clinic/outpatient addiction treatment facility. Council held a public hearing on Monday, Sept. 14 regarding the request by Freedom Healthcare Services. The proposed facility will be on 773 Pershing St. in Walnut Ridge.
