FRAZER TWP – Pittsburgh Mills Sky Trail is recognizing first responders for their service in protecting life and property with free admission from June 5-30, 2016, Sundays through Fridays. A 10 percent discount for up to six additional guests with the first responder is also included. Katherine “Kay” Krupa, 74 of Fourth Avenue, Koppel passed away at the ER of the Ellwood City Hospital on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 8:12 p.m. Born in Ellwood City on Nov. 22, 1941, Kay was the daughter of the late Jim and Doris Hollinback Hazen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Krupa on Sept. 30, 2011. They were married on Sept. 9, 1958. Ag Committee Holds Hearing on Fireworks Bill

The Senate Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee today (Feb. 10) held a public hearing on a bill that would legalize the sale of fireworks in Pennsylvania, according to Committee Chairman Senator Elder Vogel (R-47). Senate Bill 1055, legislation introduced by Senator Vogel and his colleagues Senators Don White (R-41) and Gene Yaw (R-23) would lift the ban on the sale of “consumer” fireworks, known as “Class C” fireworks, and allow businesses legally operating in the state to sell consumer fireworks — such as bottle rockets, roman candles and mortars — to Pennsylvania residents without the need for a permit. “It’s…

Goldie F. Cochran Reese, 87, formerly of Ellwood City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday afternoon, Jan. 25, 2016 at the Paramount Assisted Living Center in Pittsburgh. She was born in Butler on April 21, 1928 to the late John Calvin Cochran and the late Hazel Biddle Cochran.
