Maxine Queen, 89, formerly of Tuscarawas Rd. Ohioville passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. Born September 24, 1927 in Industry, she was the daughter of the late Oles G. and Daisy Riggs Williams. She was married to Raymond Queen who passed away in 1986. Frederick “Yardbird” M. Bender , 69, of Bender Lane, Marienville (formerly of Ellwood City) passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Butler. Born April 25, 1947 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Frederick M and Alberta Swoger Bender Sr. He was married to Judy Newton Bender who passed away in 2012. Several police-force related questions and comments were brought up at this weeks council meeting. Medevac Ambulance Service Recognized for Advanced Pediatric Service

Medevac Ambulance Service has received an Advanced Certificate of Recognition from the Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services for Children. This multi-phase recognition program was created for EMS agencies who wish to establish programs and standards to improve their capabilities to deliver care to pediatrics. Medevac is the first EMS agency in Lawrence County to receive Advanced level.
