Mr. Samuel J. Santillo, 94, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, August 6,2017  under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice at the Heritage Valley Medical Center, in Beaver, Pa. Samuel was born on July 12, 1923 in Ellwood City to the late Antonio and Catherine Carofino Santillo. Sam attended Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, Pa. Fundraising for Local High School Student in Pool Accident

Anthony Tollari is a high school student at Riverside who was in a pool-related accident nearly two weeks ago that has left him partially paralyzed. “After a Colt League Championship baseball defeat, Anthony was at his home, and dove into his pool. He landed extremely awkward, and broke his neck. He was rushed to the hospital, and had to have emergency surgery to save his life. Senator Vogel Continues Push for Telemedicine Initiatives in Pennsylvania

Technology can help overcome the barriers to quality patient care created by distance and reduce the costs of those services, according to Senator Elder Vogel (R-Beaver), the author of legislation aimed at promoting telemedicine in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Ann Ferruchie, 92, formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Banner Medical Center in Casa Grande, Arizona. Dominic Nocera, a 2017 graduate of Lincoln High School, Ellwood City was awarded the second Tommy Novosel Scholarship at a service on May 28th at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish in Ellwood City. Dominic was a member of the National Honor Society, Peer Leadership, Student Council and Club Hope. Ellwood City Woman Most Senior of BC3’s Largest Class Since 2000

(Butler, PA) An Ellwood City grandmother of three was the most senior of the 596 graduates in Butler County Community College’s Class of 2017. Kathie Potemra, 63, of Park Avenue, earned an associate of applied science degree in office administration-medical from BC3. She attended BC3 at Lawrence Crossing in New Castle, BC3’s main campus and took courses online.
