Joan M. Brommer, 70, of Meadville (formerly of New Castle) passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, Ohio following an illness. Born December 29, 1946 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Margaret Jeanette Scott Porada. She was married on June 24, 1978 to Donald E. Brommer who passed away April 26, 2016. Joan enjoyed gardening and canning her vegetables. She also enjoyed camping and fishing. Her most cherished time was spent with her late husband and their family especially their grandchildren. Mrs. Barbati was born on June 22, 1933 in Ellwood City to the late John A. and Ricka Sue DeThomas Mathas. Mr. Robert Clark Nesbit, 72, of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Butler VA Medical Center from health issues that occurred due to his exposure to agent orange during the Vietnam War. Mr. Nesbit was born on May 6, 1944 in New Castle to the late Clark James and Margaret Bell Shaffer Nesbit. Bob graduated from Shenango High School and Florida Technical College. Dr. Milton L. Caplan was born in 1915, son of the late Jacob L. Caplan and Gertrude Goldman Caplan, in Ellwood City, and lived in Ellwood most of his life, until  2003, at the age of 88, when he retired to West Palm Beach Florida. Dr. Caplan lived to be over 101, when he passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7 2017.  He would have celebrated his 102 birthday in May. Born February 21, 1931 in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mildred Gorby Welsh. She was married for 64 years to Donald R. Aiken, who survives. Esther was a professional homemaker, taking pride in raising her four children. She was an active member of North Sewickley Presbyterian Church.
