The Wolverines boys tennis team defeated rival Riverside Wednesday afternoon to improve its regular season record to 2-2. Ellwood City used singles victories by Porter Nash (6-1, 6-2 over Sean Love), Quinn Smith (6-4, 6-2 over John Besong) and Isaac Smith (6-3, 2-6, 6-4 over Drew Love) and a doubles victory by Adrian Alvarez & Christian DiBuono (6-2, 6-1) over Trent Belcyzk & Cole Becker. Dylan Meyer singled in the bottom of the eight inning at Riverside earned a 5-4 extra-inning walk-off victory Wednesday afternoon over Mohawk. Logan Young collected three hits in four at bats to lead the offensive charge. Young singled in the seventh inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the eighth inning. Lincoln Grad Covert, BC3 Golf Team Set To Defend Region 20 Crown

(Butler, PA) All-American Taylor Voloch, and Mitchell Covert, Jaxon Salata and Parker Worsley return to a spring Butler County Community College golf team that seeks to defend its 2025 regional title and its automatic berth to the national championship tournament. The Pioneers open their spring season at 10 a.m. April 10 against the Community College of Allegheny County, and Pennsylvania Highlands and Westmoreland County community colleges at North Park Golf Course in Allison Park. Both teams were strong on the mound on Tuesday, but Riverside defeated Ellwood City 1-0 behind a stellar pitching performance by Matt Santillo. The victory evened the mini home-and-home series between the two clubs as Ellwood City collected its home victory on Monday. Aaron Lake drove in four runs on two hits to lead Ellwood City (5-0 Overall) past Riverside 11-0 in six innings on Monday afternoon at Sanders Field. Lake doubled in the first inning, scoring two runs and smacked a 2-run home run to left field in the sixth inning. Jordan Keller hit two home runs and drove in three as part of an offensive showcase as Ellwood City defeated Beaver 12-2 on Thursday at Sanders Field. Keller homered in the third and fifth innings. Lake Strikes Out 14, Wolverines Improve To 3-0

Aaron Lake struck out 14 batters and allowed only one hit across six scoreless innings as Ellwood City defeated Central Valley 3-0 on Tuesday to improve to 3-0 on the young regular season. Lake did not walk a batter and added an RBI single offensively for the Wolverines. Ellwood City collected three runs in the bottom of the first inning to spark the offense. Ellwood City Baseball Starts Season With Home Victory

Ellwood City took care of business in their home opener on Friday afternoon, coming out on top against the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers by a score of 5-1. Nate Kennedy struck out 10 batters over 5.1 innings to earn the victory. Kennedy allowed only three hits and one run. Cameron Mills made a splash while hitting and pitching. Riverside Swimming Makes Splash At WPIAL Championships, Relay Team Qualifies For PIAA

The Riverside swimming team was well represented at the 2026 AA WPIAL Swimming/Diving Championships held at Trees Pool on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh this past weekend. Four Panthers had successful showings highlighted by Peter Ruggeri and Nate Goff who each earned medals in their respective meets Ruggeri placed 6th place in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 56.38 while Goff placed 7th place in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 57.48.
