The Ellwood City boys basketball team used a well rounded scoring attack to knock off rival Riverside 52-40 on Tuesday at Lincoln High School. Three Wolverines reached double digits led by junior guard Kaleb Servick who scored a game-high 17 points.  Tyler Smiley finished with 11 points (two 3-pointers, four assists, five steals) and Aaron Lake scored 10 points in the victory. Emma Meyers knocked home four 3-pointers and scored a game high 14 points to lead Riverside to a 46-17 victory over Ellwood City on Monday. Meyers was among eight Panthers that scored in the rivalry victory. Gabby McElwain and Addison Drake each pitched in two 3-pointers and eight points a piece for Riverside who posted nine 3-pointers as a team. The Panthers led 30-5 at halftime. Ellwood City Looking To Hire Head Football and Basketball Coaches

The Ellwood City Area School District is seeking applicants to fill its anticipated vacancies for head football coach and head boys basketball coach. Current coach Dan Bradley is moving on from his positions after four seasons with the Wolverines. Bradley will wrap up as head coach of 2025-26 boys basketball season (currently 7-8 Overall) this winter after steering the Wolverines football team to a second consecutive playoff berth and a 7-5 record in the fall. Lady Panthers Collect Third Consecutive Victory, Improve To 10-4

The Riverside girls basketball team won for a third consecutive time Monday and improved their regular season record to 10-4 (4-3 Class 3A-1). On Monday, Riverside dismantled New Brighton 81-3 behind 22 points from Emma Stockman. Silvana Fox and Emma Meyer each chipped in with 10 points in the blowout victory that saw 10 Panthers hit the scoring column. Riverside led 54-1 at halftime. Ellwood City Wrestling Improves To 4-1 On Season

The Ellwood City wrestling team collected two victories in a tri-meet on Wednesday at Lincoln High School to improve their record to 4-1 on the regular season. The Ellwood City boys basketball team split their two games in the Mercer Christmas Tournament this week. On Monday, the Wolverines easily dispatched of Clarion-Limestone 77-36 behind a 21-point scoring performance by Kaleb Servick. Servick added seven assists and four steals in the victory. Aaron Lake posted a double-double finishing with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and added seven assists for Ellwood City. PHOTOS: Riverside Edges Ellwood 49-47 In Overtime

Riverside used a 17-point effort by Cole Becker to knock off rival Ellwood City 49-47 in overtime Tuesday evening. The Panthers led 27-18 at halftime before the visiting Wolverines narrowed the gap with a third quarter surge and held Riverside to only three fourth quarter points to force overtime.
